I’m saying any future ‘lockdown’ will be virtually impossible to enforce in the Uk now.
Not that the last ones were enforced properly in the first place mind..
You say that but, IMO they were just harsh enough thank you very much.

They also worked. They got the rates right down.

The timing of when they came in, and how we moved out of them. Well I think everybody would say that the first two were done very badly in both senses, and the third one came in too late. We moved out of it sensibly though, despite all the outrage each time we hit each stage.

But totally agree, there's no way lockdown gets followed again and, frankly, nor should it.

Each to their own but that literally makes no sense.

I've been by the by following all the rules that were bestowed upon us.
From no family at Xmas to isolating when told to.
All family are double jabbed.
We've all behaved logically and are decent people. But we've not done it to be locked down again.

There will be millions of far less decent people than us who will not abide too.

If another lockdown is brought in, Johnson really should resign or be removed as PM.

Nearly two years is more than long enough to get a handle on this, if they end up back where we were in March 2020 / last Christmas there is no reasonable likelihood they'll ever get a grip. It would be dangerous for the country to allow that failure to continue.

TBF they are doing their usual thing there and suggesting that just because that story was BS, every story about ivermectin overdoses is BS.
Yes and it still is true that Oklahoma hospitals are under a lot of pressure

Sorry was really not meant so flippantly. I'm the same and have an old parent to look after so I'm more from the perspective of bemoaning if good folk like you have lost the will then we're really goosed. My concern is future variants that bring us back to square one.

Compliance would be much worse if they lock down again. If you're double vaccinated you're not going to avoid seeing family members etc and then anti vaxxers just make it up anyway. The only people who would support a lockdown are the people who have masks on their twitter profile pictures.

The way the government slipped in the suggestion of another lockdown yesterday by clearly briefing their journos and hiding it behind today’s NHS ‘reforms’ suggests to me it’s very much on.
And he’s hardly convincing here is he ?!

i reckon 'lockdown' is just it being revved up by the media. I think it will be more restrictions; table service in pubs, working from home; smaller groups (for much longer than two weeks)

i'd be very surprised if its a 'full' one as that will completely go against the vaccines which apparently trumps everything, according to the tories

If they start to highlight deaths again, having appeared to have not done so for weeks, you know it’s deffo coming.

It will have to be stuff like that because people won't comply. You can see a few people in this thread who have complied during previous lockdowns. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't be going to illegal raves but I'll see family etc like normal regardless of what decision they make.
