The picture has totally changed, with the South West and ‘holiday’ areas getting some terrible numbers in terms of cases….

There seems to be a big problem with music festivals too. Which is kind of odd as there wasn't before.

I went to an outside beer fest at the weekend, they said they wanted to see a COVID pass/negative test etc on their internet page. We got there and nothing was mentioned about it at all.

I`ve been to a couple of trail races recently, where they said the same and yet nothing on the day.

In sounds to me that it`s put in the conditions of attendance, to give people a kick up the arse and get them to do a test and also makes the organisers look like they`re doing there best too.

Yeh its probably more in the hope that people will do tests.

Yeah, probably. It will still prob make people do the test if not double jabbed beforehand.

I get it may be harder to sort for smaller events (but in a way, less work) but if larger festivals are lax it could genuinely create a problem - such as Cornwall. Not sure if Suffolk as had the same problem with Latitude. just wonder if places aren't doing as much now.

If London goes to Cornwall this weekend, schools back in a few days, it could end up being a bit of a mess and these late festivals won't look good

Green Man apparently had a fair things in place and it was great with no cases.

Yeah, it`s hard to understand, as the ones they did in Liverpool early doors, as test events, went very smoothly, with virtually nothing happening afterwards, despite less people being vaccinated then.

The Welsh government have cancelled virtually every race this year, both road and trail, due to them saying that the drinks stations aren`t safe, due to people bunching / gathering there, so I`d be surprised if any outdoor gigs get off the ground in Wales this year.

That's odd as Green Day is South Wales!

At the beer festival, they did a thing where you get a new/clean glass for each drink. The idea worked really well, no queues to get a clean glass or anything.

I firstly took this photo to show my friend where I am, then while sending it thru whatsApp, I realised the lady sitting masked in front of her drink.

Then, (couldn't help) I observed her for a while waiting for my friend to show up, I understood that she was pulling her mask down when drinking and putting it back once she is done sipping. Incredible stuff.

Did she consent to this picture mate?

Being uncharitable I just wonder of they've chanced not bothering. They may have to be seen to be taking steps, but I'd be amazed if ant authority is actually checking that they are.

My missus flew back in from a green list country last week. Spot checks on having taken a test prior to returning/completed passenger locator form at Bham International and half arsed ones at that too.
