Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

This is probably the right decision, as it ultimately increases the likelihood that supporters are able to continue attending matches and gives clubs some critical financial stability, particularly in the lower leagues. As an overseas fan who was holding onto a faint hope of getting to Goodison at some point during the upcoming season, this is obviously personally disappointing.
Why would it affect an overseas fan? If you have had jabs x2 you should be ok?

Well as it stands the UK gov aren't accepting vaccine doses administered anywhere else other than the UK.

It's completely ludicrous - and it will change. But as it stands, they don't count.

oh there'll be a spike again but it just depends when it comes and how the hospitals handle it.

If there's also an increase in natural immunity along with the vaccines (which there will be) then that will also have a positive impact.

We should be hitting a lot more hospitalisations and deaths than we are. There's no justification for further restrictions (but that's not me saying people shouldn't be sensible or whatever - then again I was sensible, and got it. It's rife and tbh part of me is glad I've got it now, with one jab, and the other to come soon).

@MikeH72 yeah this loss of taste is grim

Last night.

Was fine at 8pm, had gone by 10pm.

But I now feel absolutely fine other than that.

Christ, Everything that's going on here is happening to me at exactly the same time, one jab my 2nd to come soon, worked right through being sensible everyone caught it except myself.
Lost my sense of smell and taste about 8 last night. Was sitting in the garden and my missus commented "how can you sit out here with that smell of pot from down the road"
Couldn't smell anything, ran in to sniff aftershave bottles then bit into a garlic clove, nothing...
I'd kick the cat if I had one:mad:

So weird mate - have you done a test?

The loss of taste and smell has been the last symptom for me. I've had everything else. But like I said, now feeling tons better apart from not being able to taste.

I've done alright all things considered.

Disgraceful scenes in Sydney over the weekend, thousands marching in protest at lockdown which as usual turned violent and a police horse got punched as well. Cheers for keeping us in a longer lockdown you super spreader c****

While obviously they shouldn't be getting violent, there's also no way you lot should be in snap lockdowns 18 months into this pandemic.

That's on your governments complete cock up of the vaccine roll out.

Yeah woke up feeling terrible on Tuesday morning so took a lateral flow which went positive immediately. Went online and booked a PCR one at 9am.
24 hours later it came back positive, been bad all week but in stages.
Temp, headache and aches were worst, when the temp broke that was the best. Had nausea and the shoites after that, now the taste/smell which is awful.
I'm just thankful I haven't have any breathing issues , that would have been frightening. A mate of mine season ticket holder early 50's got it last October, he was dead inside 10 days, healthy as an Ox, great job, family, well liked. A very sad funeral...

Oh no i completely agree with that, our fearless leaders have been pathetic.

It's purely an excuse for scruffs to carry on like f-wits is more my gripe.

Horrible mate, hope you're on the fix soon!
