If only they could find ways to tax mental health.

To me it is very dependent on what the restrictions are and what the penalties are. They are also an absolute travesty.
I can't get across how strongly I hate the idea of anyone - unless they're a criminal - being locked up in their home for 10 days.
Also, the idea someone shouldn't be allowed out to exercise (outdoors, when you can quite literally now go to events with 1,000s of other people outdoors) is insansity.
They need jibbing off as soon as possible and, in relation to the point you raised earlier Legs, it's things like this, and accepting things like this, which is why I get so mad when people say we need stricter restrictions. It's lunacy.
Yeah that's fine and like I've said loads Legs, I ain't against masks. I'll keep wearing one from next week where I think it's sensible. I think the gov should keep the mask mandate for a few weeks to see how it goes with the rest of the reopening. To me it is very dependent on what the restrictions are and what the penalties are.
Imposing mask mandates for indoor places for your average person I am fine with during the current health emergency whereas home confinement for 10 days is very questionable - I don’t see the two as comparable in level of impact or rights infringed.
I’d personally base it on case rates/positivity rates or something similar.Yeah that's fine and like I've said loads Legs, I ain't against masks. My only caveat with the masks is they won't be mandatory forever and will be gone before covid is, so people have to realise that as well.
They really need to sort the isolation. Just reduce the days and have the release of two successive negatives or something. Easily doable and will mean if people have to isolate, they'll be more willing to do it/stick to it.
Having to stay locked indoors for an illness you might not even have is, 18 months into this thing, insane.

I received a phone call today from the track and trace team as I’m isolating asking if I wanted to take part in a daily testing trial and go back to work and in to the community. I said I would but I’m isolating as I’m positive, to which I got a reply saying “oh dear, you’re definitely on the wrong list then thanks for letting us know”
does anyone actually have a clue what they’re doing?
from a year ago, maybe you (and the article) were right....November 2021

A Return to ‘Normal’: How Long Will the Pandemic Last?
During a recent video conference hosted by the Jay H. Baker Retailing Center, Penn’s Zeke Emanuel said consumers and businesses in the U.S. will likely need to wait until November 2021 to resume pre-pandemic levels of activity. …Read Moreknowledge.wharton.upenn.edu
I have no idea mate, probably the same way I was “pinged” 4 times on Monday and got 3 different isolation end dates? I have no idea were in the system it breaks down but my overall point is it’s an absolute shambles.Dunno if I have missed sommet. But you are isolating, and the TTI team called you, so they know you are isolating. But dont know if you are pos or neg? I am not sure how they would know the result if I am honest.
Its kin mad, after 18 months.
edit. Get well soon anyrate mate. Xx
