It isn’t over-testing though that leads to positivity rate going up and hospital cases rising.
Overtesting, if there was a low rate of coronavirus in the community, would actually decrease positivity rate as the few cases you did find would be overwhelmed by the negative ones,
How are things, hope you are feeling a bit better x
Davek??Its exponential growth, same rate week on week, it’s quite amazing after being down this road before people are trying to find an explainable reason for this apart from people getting the virus.
P.S. The FDA have discredited the Innova antigen tests currently being used in the U.K. should be sent back to the supplier or thrown in the bin. So who knows whether case numbers are even accurate.

Surrey as well, but it's not politically prudent for the media to be briefed about that part of world, stockbroker belt and Heathrow and Gatwick either side of it.Its still bloody Bolton and Burnley etc etc.. They should be put back in to lockdown.
Hope they don't move the semis. You really couldn’t make this up. A total coincidence, honest guv. Note that date !
The Daily Mail today.
"Could we be free by July 5?" asks the Daily Mail's headline.
The paper says it has been told that Downing Street has "opened the door" to easing all restrictions in England two weeks earlier than planned, because data on the effectiveness of vaccines has proved to be far better than the initial assumptions. There will now be a "genuine review of the data" in a fortnight, according to a government source.
Any optimism is tempered by comments by Prof Chris Whitty - England's chief medical adviser - reported in the Times. He warns the UK is a entering a possible "third significant wave".
The Times Today. ( The semi finals in question kick off on the 6th July )
The Times reports that ministers are considering a proposal to exempt about 2,500 VIPs from quarantine rules, so they can attend Euro 2020 football matches at Wembley.
The government is concerned that if it does not relax the rules, Uefa could move the semi-finals and final from London to Hungary.
Cabinet ministers have acknowledged the amendment will cause controversy - but Boris Johnson is said to be drawn to the plan because it could boost a joint home nations bid for the 2030 World Cup.

Really? Makes me chuckle VIP exemption, honestly the state of this country. In all seriousness though, the whole exemption for VIP guests shouldn't happen at all
The VIP's mentioned in The Times report are all UEFA/FIFA representatives. They seem to think the normal rules do not apply to them, global pandemic or not. If our government back down on this I think it will play badly for them.Really? Makes me chuckle VIP exemption, honestly the state of this country.
