To qualify my remark, I live in a place that has been proper mental daft about following rules. The population of my village would be a short queue at Ikea, and the population of the town nearby would just about fill Bournmouths ground. If they were all allowed out of their retirement homes.

Even the Bristol Variant has been, by a mile, in relegation form in the European Variant League.

Too many scallies around Merseyside mate lol tbf I've largely stuck by the rules - I do the weekly food shop for my nan who struggles to get out but still wear my face mask and get a lateral flow test done even now she's had both jabs.

Hows the wife doing mate?

It's increased chance of a variant escaping what the vaccine have achieved is the concern with case numbers .We are already seeing vaccines becoming less effective. Also, greater concerns around the world with so many variants circulating in the UK. All the good work by the NHS local.authority Army and the many volunteers being spaffed up the wall...

No we’re not.

And no it isn’t.

Its just different in the cities, obvs.

She is doing fine mate, thanks for asking. Gets her second jab soon, (home visit), but its a very long road back to a full physical recovery unfortunately. Docs coudnt give me an idea of how long, cos what she came back from, hardly anyone does. So stat wise, nothing to go on.

But she is comfy, cheerful, and cared for. I would have taken that 15 months ago.

I saw you posted that you had some jobs lined up. Nice one. Been too long.

Good to hear she's doing okay mate - as long as she's happy thats all that matters ;) yeah the work is slowly getting back to what it was so im hoping from June it picks up even more - it gives me something to do more than anything!

In case your confused the government has issued more confusion to help clear it up.

Hugh Pym

Following confusion over whether new restrictions being imposed in some parts of England... A government spokesperson said: We will be updating the guidance for areas where the new COVID-19 variant is spreading to make it clearer we are not imposing local restrictions...

“we are providing advice on the additional precautions people can take to protect themselves and others in those areas where the new variant is prevalent. “This includes, wherever possible, trying to meet outdoors rather than indoors...

“....keeping 2 metres apart from anyone you don’t live with and minimising travel in and out the area. These are not new regulations but they are some of the ways everyone can help bring the variant under control in their local area.”

Hospital figures - 9 deaths were announced today, up 6 on yesterday and the exact same total as last Tuesday. All 9 were in English hospitals, again up 6 on yesterday and up 1 on last week. The 7 day rolling average remain the same at 6.43

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 15 deaths were announced today, up 12 on yesterday and up 8 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises slightly to 6.86

For the 60 day cut off, 28 deaths were announced today, up 25 on yesterday and up 8 on last Tuesday. The 7 day rolling average rises to an even 17

This is so worrying to me. Scaremongering amongst the vaccine-skeptics which would only put them further from reason and endangering themselves and others. These 'mysterious PR' people should be the subject of criminal investigations.

@NilSatisOptimum you still furious that we aren’t going back into lockdown?

The poster - understandably - this government, but it's just that they're now hell bent on being as contrary as possible and looking to scream panic about any single thing that has happened or might happen or has been mentioned as possibly, maybe being able to happen if certain other things happen but those things are unlikely.
