Here is a fact.

Last summer, the seven day deaths average did not drop into single figures until 30 July by when pubs etc. had been open indoors for nearly 4 weeks.

It is just ten right now and will likely drop into single figures this weekend.

Anyone got the most recent stats/news on AZ and blood clots in the brain and stuff? I've been keeping a wide berth mostly from the latest covid news recently. Here in Germany AZ is only recommended to over 60s. But it seems the over 60s are turning their noses up at it leaving lots left over for younger people to take. I'm about to register for the waiting list for left over jabs and it asks if you're willing to have AZ. I think I will but a little bit concerned about all the brain clots and stuff. I guess it should be fine though. I'm 41 and I think in the UK people my age and even younger have been having AZ right? Any advice @Neiler ?

Myself, wife, brother, sister, sister in law, friends..
All under 40.
All had one or both doses of AZ.

Logically you have more chance of a clot from covid than the jab.

Its not "over". Never will be.

But they tested over a million folk today. Which they do every day. So a 1% infection rate would be circa 10,000 folk being positive, and its a 5th of that, so what, 0.2%? Death/hospitalisation was 1% of positive tests back in the day, (pre vax), so 1% of 0.2% is titchy.

I'd reserve judgement on the effectiveness of the vaccinations. We just got out of lockdown so we have no idea whether they or thr lockdown itself that's the diffrence.

Second dose of Pfizer today and again I was very impressed by the smooth running of the centre. No queues at all, friendly staff and I was back in the car again in 20 mins.

Nice to get it all done and dusted.
