The vaccines are doing it. Have you not been looking at the data from Israel?

Barring variants that can either evade or dramatically reduce effectiveness of the vaccines we should be in a comfortable position moving forward, even come next winter.

With the booster shots being prepped for autumn it would take a dramatic mutation to set us back to square one.
So just barring those things then?

None of those have happened so unless you can see in to the future I don't understand why you don't think vaccines are the solution.

Booster shots will deal with variants anyway and unless one totally evades vaccines the population will all have some level of protection.
The morer infrctions there are the greater the possibility for mutations to occur.

Ergo: you keep all activity outdoor and dont go for a full reopening of hospitality or hold any indoor events.

Unfortunately there has been a further outbreak of covid in 2 old people's homes here in the Creuse département of central France
All the inhabitants had been fully 2 shot vaccinated, the staff had at least one jab.
38 vaccinated people have been re infected by the Brazilian or s African mutation.

If you can read French it's reported in Le Figaro today.

Big covid surge in India would suggest events such as the recent test series between India and England wasn't a good idea. Surprise.
Darren Gough at the time was talking about this, predicting it was going to lead to a disaster, and it has.
There was a baseball game in Texas, opening week, sold out stadium and similar, wonder if it's done similar there.
Just hope UK takes note and dosent do any in controlled crowds any time soon

Perhaps Texas has the health infrastructure to cope better than India with any spike in virus but it still seems a rash move.
