A sort of disappointment today, as we have 40 deaths, an increase on 34 last week.
However.... after Friday last week we were on 148 weekly deaths at that same stage, we are now on 117; so 31 lower than the same stage last week.
Either way, the lower you get, the harder it is to get really low and that’s the situation now. The South West has patient numbers in the double figures, but it goes up and down like a yo-yo every day, or “bottoms out”.
The bottom line is that as long as the Sunday weekly totals are consistently below 200, we are going in the right direction, there is sadly no way due to our high population, we will get a “0” day.
I suppose as yesterday’s figure was very low for a Thursday, today saw a huge catch up and we will simmer down over the weekend and get a weekly total below 183, which was the total at the end of last week.
The rolling average increases to 23, one up from yesterday, but cases are 2,678; lower than 2,756 than last Friday.
I can still see very much so, this week’s total deaths come Sunday, lower than last weeks of 183.
96,349 active cases now, that number took a huge fall today which is always good to hear.
The pandemic domestically is over says a few scientists, and I think that is very much correct, only that it’s now an endemic; a disease that is still about, will never go away, but is now at a level it’s preventable, controllable and containable as the treatments are now available. An example would be chicken pox.
Have a fantastic weekend and let’s look forward to a Toffees win, AFTV being pissed off because of it and of course May and June’s important roadmap days!.
