Were you folk here, serious question – were you getting all hissy and venomous when over 200 thousand folks in England died of cancer, dementia, the flu, diabetes, heart and lung disease over the last 5 years? Really? I am shocked

In Europe they could well be, just saying that don’t think that is the case with the US which was the original point.

Although having lived in a different country which has much more distrust of medical institutions than the UK I wouldn’t put all of the European caution down to politics, a lot will be cultural. And from a logistical standpoint an anaphylactic reaction within 15 mins is a lot easier to handle than a brain clot 6-20 days post injection.

I can’t speak for all of Europe but a lot of what Germany’s various authorities have been doing is much more cultural than political

Hospital figures - 34 deaths were announced today, up 5 on yesterday and down 9 on last Thursday. 28 deaths were in English hospitals, up 2 on yesterday and down 6 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to an even 30

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 30 deaths were announced today, down 8 on yesterday and down 23 on last Thursday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 30.14

For the 60 day cut off, 55 deaths were announced today, down 62 on yesterday and down 30 on last Thursday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 71.14

Went to yet another different pub tonight, beer cheap but excellent. Checked out the Covid precautions, all good, and they’ve really put some effort in on the outside of the pub. Spoke with the landlady, who has had hardly any revenue in the last year, yet she was talking about further improvements she’s going to do for the kids. I was in thrall to her to be honest. People like her who see a problem and work out a way around it while keeping up her enthusiasm for the job and the well-being of her customers deserve to succeed in life. And I’ve no doubt she will........
