Surely in places like Britain, where we are doing hundreds of thousands of routine testing daily, it paints an unrealistically brighter picture. If you're getting tested once or twice weekly you would expect negative tests. We must be recording figures of about 0.2/0.3%.

Edit

Based on the ONS weekly random testing England is currently running at 1 in 340, which is just under 0.3%. So maybe it is a fair reflection.

You are right but at the same time some people compare the number of cases even though they can go up and down massively. I've seen quite a few people comparing case numbers now to last summer when we came out of lockdown but at the moment we doing something like 10x the quantity of tests so the case numbers don't really tell the whole story either.

Its certainly as good as your testing. Most places aren't doing the schools thing like the U.K., so as you say maybe that might skew the U.K. positivity rate a bit. The last time I worked out the U.K. positivity rate, it was ridiculously good and that was a number of weeks ago, I assume it’s far better now.

Stats are a preference really, I happen to think the positivity rate is the best indicator of the infection rate in the community myself.

I always say women who have to resort to scrapping in the street are not getting that pent up tension released in the bedroom.

Their fella's ought to be ashamed of themselves for gross negligence.

I'll rehabilitate them.
Not sure women who resort to scrapping in the street should be touched with a bargepole, much less anything more delicate.

Picky sod you mate lol

They will faze it out as others come on line, there is no way they can slam the door on the Oxford vaccine, the Gammon would have an absolute melt down, by rolling up their Daily Mail's Telegraph and Express, to turn them into paper batons and attack us woke types for being unpatriotic and sneering by whacking their keyboards and touch screens.
It's been a disaster vaccine. I know it's been rolled out to effect and given coverage to millions, but this vaccien is simply binned in normal times. No wonder these vaccine makers demanded (and got off the UK Government) indemnity.

Why exactly has it been a disaster? Because of a few minor cases of clotting? When Pfizer and now J&J have reported the same, should they be binned off too?
