Back on this are we?

Well if Merck wanted to partner Oxford they should have agreed to do it at cost. They wouldn't. They effectively ruled themselves out by wanting to profit out of it.
I read Oxford had an agreement with Merck and Hancock overruled it because he was worried about them teaming up with a US company that might be susceptible to Trump's America first policy.

So the solution was to go with a company that had never made a vaccine and now be in this situation?

What great foresight by the UK Government.

The UK's contribution to the fight against Covid19 so far:

1/ produce a vaccine that's killing some people
2/ create a variant that's killing hundreds of thousand the world over
3/ host the Euros when Europe is going through a 3rd wave of infections

....and Starmer is trailing this lot by 10 points.

I think your first point is really poor and I'd expect the admin to raise this.

Fairly sure you said the dose spacing would cost lives.

As I say, nowhere else in Europe has stuck as many needles in arms as The Uk, we are planning summer holidays and days out to the beach, meanwhile The French cant even leave their house after 7pm.

Good job Macron lad, tip top.
That is only partly true, conditions apply. Come on give us the complete story.

I just tried to put a cheque in the bank, queue half way down the street and didn't move in ten minutes before i saw my butt as I had the dog. We need to get back to normal asap.

This morning Prof Adam Finn, a professor of paediatrics at the University of Bristol and a member of the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI), said that figures up to 24 March showed 30 cases of CVST and seven deaths in the UK amongst more than 18 million people given the AstraZeneca jab. He said more up-to-date figures were due soon.

Most of these CVST cases are occurring in women under the age of 65 and Finn said this could lead to certain vaccines being used for certain age groups. Asked if younger people could be limited to certain vaccines, he told the Today programme:
"That’s certainly possible. We are seeing another vaccine coming in [Moderna], and further vaccines are approaching licensure, and I know that the UK has made contracts for quite a wide range of different vaccines. As time goes forward we will have much more flexibility about who can be offered what."

That equates to 0.00038888888% why would you worry, not getting any better than that I doubt

We differ on opinion on it mate and thats fine. I never accepted your opinion, nor I’d assume you mine! That’s all good the two things can exist together, I’m just sharing my analysis and opinion!

The Moderna vaccine is coming in at £28 a shot. I don’t think there’ll be too many of those available.

All eyes on the Novavax and the Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
