It takes minimum 3/4 months to get any complaint to NHS England heard. The only way I can change my circumstances is to opt for another location.

I blame myself, tbh. The location I could have gone to had glowing reviews but I went with the other option when booking because it was easier to get to, so I made the (wrong) assumption they were going to be equally as good.
Morning David.

I had a choice of 4 , two that where nearer to me , but I chose St Helens RUFC as it takes 15/20 mins from South Liverpool .
Could not fault the whole process , spotless & very efficient.
Couldnt get it for my 2nd so booked Whiston hotel where our kid went & said it was superb.

Me and my girlfriend both 30 and both had the AZ. We know the chances of falling ill are extremely minimal but it is worrying. Honestly, I think if this vaccine was created by the Russians it would have been pulled.

I had AZ should I be worried? I'm not like but seems to be a concern around it.
Theres a concern with any vaccine as with any medcine (even paracetemol).
Every Dr/ Proffessor are trying to reassure everyone it is very very safe and there is no proven link. The data shows its a miniscule chance of it happening.
In fact a small percentage of a percentage and its rightly being studied.
But as usual the media jump straight on it , but your choice mate ....i know what mine is.

Oh yeah, I'm taking it, cba with all the bs surrounding these, if they really want to kill me off or insert a chip lol lol then go for it, just give me the jab first so I can get back to normal.

I think the situation we are in AZ should be still given til we are all vaccinated however after that point it should be potentially reviewed going forward once we are no longer in a dire situation.
All the vaccines are constantly reviewed , no need to just carry on then stop just in case something is wrong.
Not a very good message to send out that.

This thread is usually a good source of news served alongside the ever-amusing plate spinning of our resident conspiracy-theorist-in-chief, but we're actually getting to the point where blatant lies are being told in an attempt to scare people from taking a potentially life-saving vaccine by somebody who isn't even qualified to operate a microwave.

That's where it stops being funny.

Apologies if this has already been discussed, but I’ve just done some Big Shaq style “quick maths” on this AstraZenica blood clot scandal and I’m confused.

According to reports I’ve just read, the estimates are that these “rare” blood clots occur normally between 2 in a million and 16 in a million (between 1 in 500,000 and 1 in 62,500). In the UK there has been 18 million doses of the AstraZenica vaccine given, with 30 cases of the clotting occurring. This is 1 in 600,000, which is actually LOWER than would normally be “expected” even without having the vaccine.

So I’m really struggling to see any causation link here?

It would depend on the time period those incidence rates are referring to I’d imagine.

The vaccine has only been given for a period of four months, is the incidence rate in a four month period among the same population group higher ?

There may well be a causal link between AZ and increased clots in people within a certain age group, but at the moment that has not been proven and it’s a joke that some people are stating that’s the case.

Good point. The time period the “normal” rates relate to is 12 months. Therefore, reducing the “normal” rates to a 4 month period (divide incidences by 3?), the rates would be between 1 in 187,500 to 1 in ~1,500,000.

Therefore the “post-vaccine” rate of 1 in 600,000 still falls comfortably within any “expected” incident rate spectrum.

OR, my maths is complete wham and I’m talking tripe.
