So basically no better off than Russia and Germany for full protection.

Better than both and improving at a faster rate....and that ignores the other 31 million first doses the U.K. has done. You can argue the numbers or the percentages or whatever until you are blue in the face but the U.K. is wiping the floor with everyone in Europe in both first dose and now second dose......

The at-cost vaccine must be discredited as much as possible so people can buy the overpriced cougar urine from The US.

AZ have already said they’ve lost out on about £21Bn of profit and because of the grief given by the EU wouldn’t do it again. This will still be the vaccine that saves the rest of the world, and leaves the rich to pay through the nose....

*sigh*

I've got to go back in 10 weeks time for another game of Russian Roulette.
There are literally millions of people who will be going back for a second injection. Only drama queens like you will make any fuss over it. If you are that worried don't go. It's that simple. You don't believe the vaccine works anyway so if you had any backbone or principles you would just swerve it.

What better way?

It's a pretty crap situation.

They've been advising against any unessential travel. And if you land back in the UK from anywhere (unless it's for very specific work I imagine), you have to quarantine at home (and pay for the tests to be sent to you) or in a hotel if the countries are red listed.

The Home Office's idea to fit GPS tags was a much better idea than the hotel one has turned out to be - it would have been much cheaper, and much less draconian.

So they didn’t ask you if you’d had COVID, been in contact with anyone who had or been tested in the weeks before your jab?
No, they didn't.

The whole thing was a shambles. Very poorly organised - too may people let into the hall and not socially distanced. I wont be going back there for the second, that is for sure. The AZ vaccine I'll get if I simply have to.

But didn't people want the system that Aus and NZ had in place?

GPS tags on what, people?

Either way it's pretty draconian isn't it?

Edit: not saying something can't be done, btw, just - isn't the entire point to deter people from travelling unless they absolutely need to, and for those that do travel, it's for them to quarantine/isolate.
