Big shame too as there was talk of a massive boost in supplies from this week onwards. Instead, something has clearly gone wrong.

Perhaps, though of course it could also be the case that the drug firms aren't able to supply what they've promised most of the world and are having to dole it out enough that they don't get sued.

They can't really ramp up second doses - they have to be given 11-12 weeks after the first.

perhaps not "ramp up", but ensure that they deliver the second doses as planned (rather than give first doses out)

edit: AZ was authorised on the basis of 4-12 weeks, so they could do it earlier if they wanted

I'd hope they were doing that anyway. Through the NHS booking system you can book your second appointment at the same time as the first, so for every first dose booked, the second one is roped off.

If they're not doing that, that's just insane incompetence.

tbf it seems a fair few people are booked in for 9-10 weeks too (at least from who I know - could just be down to area, though?)

I'm hoping it's like what Whitty warned was gonna come in March.

He said that there'd come a time when, due to the nature of the roll out, more and more people would start needing their second jabs, and that would hit the roll out of the first jabs, obviously

But he said it would just slow. This seems something worse.

Was hoping I'd be getting my first in May/early June.

Looks like it's gonna be mid-July now, probably at the earliest.

I'm not bothered about having it - I'll get it whenever I can but no rush for my health, really. Just hate the thought that this might push everything back.
