It’s based on current rates.

Q2 is the key one for EU, I still think both will finish around the same time.

No chance IMO - indeed that's why you're seeing the EU act the way they are.

The chances of the EU being done by even September are basically nil, especially due to much stronger vaccine hesitancy on the continent.

The UK/USA will be bare minimum three months ahead of the EU in my opinion.

Be interesting to see mate, I think the EU be fine myself, supply ramps up from April on. Uk are 25 mill, just over a sixth into their entire programme, long, long way to go in this with many twists and turns yet.

Just looking at the breakdown of our vaccination figures here, wonder are we reflective of other EU countries and shows the supply disparity with AZ between EU and UK:

Pfizer: 76%
Moderna: 3.2%
AZ: 20.9%

Hospital figures - 93 deaths were announced today, down 10 on yesterday and down 79 on last Wednesday. 77 deaths were in English hospitals, down 24 on yesterday and down 68 on last week. The 7 day rolling average falls to 122.71

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 141 deaths were announced today, up 31 on yesterday and down 49 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to 120.57

For the 60 day cut off, 291 deaths were announced today, up 60 on yesterday and down 105 on last Wednesday. The 7 day rolling average falls to an even 223

There`ll be something similar here, but it won`t be called a " pass " or a " passport ", due to the government already saying there won`t be one in the UK.

It`ll be some kind of form, that`ll prove you`ve been vaccinated or had a very recent negative test, that allows you to avoid having to jump through the current hoops before getting on a plane and travelling abroad.

Whats all this about severe reduction in vaccines in April?

If true cant see us sticking to the plan of back to normal in June.

TBF if the worst affected groups are properly done (two jabs) by then, its probably safe enough to go back to opening up the country. Foreign travel though will need people to be vaccinated before going, one would imagine.

edit: I should add to that though that they will need to make sure track and trace is working, and that people in the under-49 group are supported when they feel that they might have this and are able to not go into work (so not go back to pre-pandemic normal)

Is this media driven stuff?

Like the letter said a reduction in 1st doses. So is that cos they are going to ramp up the 2nd dose?
