The more people get their vaccines the less likely there will be of death spikes or hospital spikes. The R rate will see a brief rise then dip, same as last year when we didn’t have the vaccines

Like it or not, kids need to be back at school and interacting with their friends again, not having that has had a massive impact on kids’ mental well-being

It was wrong then, and now we have PROOF that infections are rising in some areas of the country and plateauing elsewhere we should see a rethink...but we wont, because this government dont give a flying one about human life....as almost 125,000 people in this country found out to their cost.

Cases have dropped significantly everywhere. Just because a few places have had minor increases you can't keep a lockdown going forever.

As Van Tam said on Friday: infection rates up, levelling off elsewhere. It is no time to think the job is done, and vaccines wont do it for us.

But the age/health profiles of those who needed hospital admission have all been vaxxed. The hospital admissions for the below 50/55 was tiny by comparism.

And if you think that it's ok having 50-60 year olds walking about completely unvaccinated and wont be as a cohort for weeks while the infection rate increases with the school reopening you need to have a rethink.

Let's have it right: this school reopening is due to pressure from corporate interests who are using the Tory Death Cult AKA the Covid *Recovery* Group to open the economy up prior to it being safe to do so.

They are both important. First jabs are having an effect on admissions already.

And if you think it’s ok having school kids, who’s parents aren’t key workers, continue to be isolated from friends and any social for much longer is fine and dandy then you damn well need your head testing

I do share that re the schools opening. With Easter around the corner, it seems a bit pointless, and I struggle to see what another 2 or 3 weeks off school would be that big a problem, education wise.

Dave loves quoting Van Tam all the time. Even if cases are stalling or rising in an area, as long as the vaccine rollout in the area is is going well and deaths are being avoided, it’s nothing to worry about

It gives three weeks data which can be used in the event of any changes at the Easter holidays.
