My last gig to date was Morrissey at the O2. I arrived late by half hour because someone jumped onto a train track and delayed the whole network.

It really does make me wonder if this was a suicide brought on by the Coronavirus concerns. There have been many suicides over it all.
FFS, you'll be linking full moons to lockdowns soon.

Was talking to my mrs about this earlier, I don’t necessarily think they will be mandatory / needed, but I do think there will be a lot more people wearing them in the future, much like people in Asian countries did before Covid.
I think they are more disciplined than "us" personally.

Maybe 12months was a little early to say, considering we would only just be out of Winter, but within 18months I think masks will be a thing of the past.

Sure there is great compliance currently, but a lot of people are wearing them with gritted teeth.

I’m one of them, currently have to wear a mask in the site office I’m based in, i think the principle in Japan etc is people who have a bit of a cough or sniffle wear them, which is not bad thing I guess. I’m perhaps being overly optimistic we might adopt such considerate measures! I used to travel on packed trains into London before getting onto packed tube and from Oct to March, the amount of coughing & sneezing etc was pretty gross tbf.

A year ago today I went to cinema not knowing it would be my last for a long time....

I had a feeling this wouldn’t be a quick fix thing. At work the team leaders were saying “See you all in six months time, this will be over by Christmas”. I had a feeling that would not be the case, especially since a workfriend’s father studies viruses as his job, which enabled her to mention the mutation problems. Of course, it mutated and is still rampaging now. Well, it’s not rampaging as such, it stopped doing that when the vaccine effect settled in, but it’s still here.

A recent Oxfam study found that since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, the world’s richest 10 billionaires have seen a wealth increase of half a trillion dollars – enough to pay for every person on the planet to get a vaccine.

In this UpFront special, Marc Lamont Hill discusses with economist and former Greek Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis what is driving the staggering wealth inequalities and how governments are offering socialism for the rich, and austerity for the rest.

Just been thinking back to when all this started and all the virtue signalling it triggered off. One of them was this idea to clap outside your house, only for it to escalate well out of control.

It was a nice thought but it ended up with mass gatherings outside hospitals because people wanted to get their 5 minutes of fame in local fish and chip wrappers, with the setting off fireworks taking heed alongside pan bashing and car horn honking. Ask someone to clap with their hands for a minute and they couldn’t even do that without trying to be a billy big bollox.

Not in Warrington, they had pipers & singers outside which then made the general public wander over every week for their chance to get there picture in the paper. They were organised by hospital management who all week wanted you to stay in.

Bonkers.
