Now there’s an advert for Starbucks on taxi doors saying “New normal, your usual?”.

Just what is it with this phrase and always being used for advertising to flog products?. There’s nothing “normal” at all about this and the phrase is really peeving me off now.
New normal and build back better is terminology of people who want the world to change for the worse. Limited rights, limited ownership, mass sensorship and all markets controlled by the tech elite.

It really is disgusting.

I dont like the situation in Europe.
The "English" variant is taking hold across Europe Dave and they are struggling to cope with it despite being in shutdown, in many cases a much harder shutdown than we have in England. Meanwhile here in the UK, which has been dealing with this particular variant for 3 months and is now completely dominant here, our infection rates continue to drop steadily. In fact, we now have one of the best infection rates across Europe.

Have you asked yourself why that is Dave? For me, the only difference is that we have adopted a policy of giving as many people as possible a first dose of the vaccine as quickly as possible. That may be a coincidence. But can you think of any other practical reason why the UK is battling this more virulent strain better than anybody else, despite it being more prevalent on our shores and having a more lenient shutdown. I can't.

Maybe, it's just possible our gnats piss actually turns out to be more effective than the other vaccines, despite it being cheaper and easier to store, transfer and administer.

It was explained in the last briefing. Like you say, they focused on the home testing, which meant using data from DPS, (delivery company for the tests), then matching that to some virus sequencing, (no, me neither), so were able to narrow it down from 10000, to 379, then one street. In a week.

Like you know when you sign for a parcel on those scanners? Well, the second the delivery lad pushes a button saying "delivered" on his scanner, the exact position he was standing at is recorded. Its called the Geo Code or sommet.
Wow. That's some detective work.

Surely it would be down to the fact we have given more people a level of protection rather than the specific vaccine. All the vaccines work well so far. We've just jabbed a lot more people.

A friend just arrived in London, she's staying indoors for 10 days, but they gave her a DIY pcr test lol should then post it via Royal Mail

She already showed negative PCR test upon arrival. they want one more, but how exactly a DIY test will work/ be accurate.

what do you mean by DIY? if its just the usual postal kit one it's dead easy

Which is exactly what I said in the paragraph above the one you highlighted.

That last bit was just a tongue in cheek dig at Dave for calling the AZ vax gnats piss.

And the only 'new normal' a lot of these people hate, is people working from home much more often.

No idea mate. But at the CV briefing they seemed happy with the containment, for now.
That's the main thing as regards the big picture.

But when you enter this country, you need to complete a form declaring whether you have visited one of the high risk country's, even before the compulsory quarantine came into play. At that stage you had to have a test and then self isolate. If he wasn't on this list he must have somehow bypassed the system. There is a maximum fine of £10,000 or 10 years imprisonment for this (the latter more of a deterrent obviously).

Just been reading on the BBC, that pubs with beer gardens are being “ deluged “ with bookings from April 12 onwards.

One pub in Surrey with a large outdoor capacity, has taken 2500 bookings for the first 2 weeks of opening.

Apparently the sky isn’t falling down after all.
