Any reasons why when they got 500-700k vaccinations a day it's now nearly halved?

Supply chain issues, which will only be temporary, as many more are coming off the line including a shipment from India of 10 million. We will see a huge ramp up next week or so with even more daily doses than before.

They are currently vaxing a pretty small class of folk. As in, they dont need that many atm. Educational needs, vulnerable but not critical, and their carers. I am booked in (as a carer) next Saturday for mine. The last appointment is 12.00 noon.

That is one GP surgery granted, but they will do all theirs by midday.

The U.K. has never done over 600 K and the average is about 350-400. There was always a knowledge that both AZ and Pfizer would be having a production slow down about now, but are gearing up for a big increase through mid March onwards. The mix is changing because of the need to get scheduled second doses completed while maintaining the drive for the first dose. I’m sure they have a detailed plan for its rollout and TBF they appear to be hitting what they said they would......

Apart from the supply probably getting the vast numbers of vaccinators through terrorism spotter training is time consuming and I'm not kidding...

A lot of the vaccination centres are paused ahead of second jabs being rolled out en masse in the next couple of weeks.

Yep. This last group of folk is the last of the priority groups.

Another good day

Patients down 502 in the day to 9092. Was 12,449 last Thursday.

Ventilators down 53 in the day to 1454. Was 1866 last Thursday.

UK patient numbers are the above plus 1874 = 10, 968 in UK hospitals.

And the above plus 138 on ventilators = 1592.
