Just to explain my reasoning due to your ’unsure’.
do you know how much of the fall is attributed to the fact there is a global pandemic?
do you know how much of the fall is attributed to the fact that there are lockdown restrictions in place?
what do you think would be a bigger driver to people getting diagnosed?
the fact that health services are overwhelmed due to the fact that they are dealing with a global pandemic and are understaffed due to front line workers having a high risk of being exposed to the virus?
or
It being more difficult to get a GP appointment due to lockdown?
you can’t attribute the fall in diagnosis to ‘lockdown’. It’s likely to be a number of factors.
health services already being overwhelmed
people being scared to get treatment for fear of the virus
restrictions meaning it more difficult to get an appointment with a GP
excess deaths from COVID in the cohort of patients that are at high risk of cancer
there are so many potential factors. Simply attributing it to ’lockdown’ is ignoring many of these.
