The Japanese people adhere to the government advice.
Also the wearing of masks has been very common in Japan since the Spanish Flu pandemic.
If they have a cold or feel slightly unwell they will wear a mask, so they don't pass it on to other people. Its very much in their culture to be hygienic
But, you wouldn't do that as you don't believe that masks work. So Japan is the total opposite of what you believe and think.
No..I would wear a mask if I am sick. Especially from now on. But if there is no pollution in the air where I live and if I'm feeling perfectly fine (never sneezed or coughed in a public place in my entire life anyway) no I wouldn't wear a mask, in the post covid world.
