We have a massive advantage now to last summer, we have vaccines and better treatments. It's understandable and logical.
The eat out to spread it about scheme is fresh in the memory.
Let it go tonight lads eh, Everton just win at Anfield. I say close this thread for 24 hours
I think the only way the Euros should go ahead is without fans and in one country. Unfair to let fans from the host country attend (if allowed in that country) and absolute madness to encourage 100,000s of fans from all over Europe into a few cities for a month. Way too many people across the continent won't be vaccinated by then, especially among the average age group of people travelling to tournaments abroad.UK will offer to host the Euros (this will happen anyway btw, just from a logistical perspective the UK is the only place that can safely host the tournament this year, because Germany and Franc won't and nowhere else in Europe has the facilities for 24 teams).
Also, apparently live outdoor music events tentatively planned to be allowed back after May.
As is entirely justifiable if they can be done in a controlled manner - which is all about testing. Not even tracing. Just testing. It's crap, it's a bit 'covid passporty', but if it's the way to do stuff, then people will do it. Get a negative test within 24 hours and that's your ticket.
They do, but at what cost, mate? They also stop the spread of infection and prevent hospitals being overwhelmed.
They do, but at what cost, mate?
Why will we?Some irresponsible posting on here around opening up this and that "because we have the vaccines now".
The vaccines WILL NOT cover us alone. The vaccines + a world class track and trace system + behavioural changes that incorporate face mask wearing and no long period indoor activity in gyms, pubs, restaurants, leisure centres are the only way of approaching the coming months. If we dont have that package in place then forget it. We'll be back to another winter of mass death in 6-9 months.
This irresponsibility is being led by an irresponsible government.
