My asthma is well controlled because I exercise a lot, eat well and take my steroid inhaler 2-4 times a day depending on how tight my chest is.

Your wife's case is down to medical conditions. Granted. I have no issue with her getting priority over me.

I do take issue with millions of fat buggers who just eat and eat and become obesse.

If it was up to me... I wouldn't give them the vaccine until they showed they were trying to lose weight
Even when admitting you're wrong you somehow manage to do it in a way that is offensive to overweight people.

60% of the adult population of the UK are clinically overweight or obese. There's no reason to assume that you can't apply similar parameters to the contributors to this forum. Throughout this conversation you have consistently referred to them as lazy, greedy and a drain on our countries resources, despite not knowing a single thing about them, what has caused their weight problems, what they have tried to overcome them, and what their mental health situation is. You've just made one massive assumption and applied it to everyone who's overweight.

You yourself have a medical condition that involves frequent use of expensive medication that is highly unlikely to be covered by the prescription fees you pay. Have you ever considered the possibility that you may actually be a bigger drain on our NHS than many of the "fat" people you are very quick to criticise.

It needs to be done now. We dont urgently need to reach down into the below 60s. Far better to hand their shots to the over 70s and vulnerable.

I take it you didnt watch the briefing the other night.

Priority 1. Get top 4 groups with 1 jab. Done.

Then, mix and match to max their second doses, whilst reaching into you and me. Its why the target area for full population vax isnt until August. They know they have to repeat everyone, but you cant give a 2nd dose till you have a 1st.

Crazy.

UK hospitality sector could partially reopen in May

British pubs, bars and restaurants are set to reopen in some capacity in May, as Boris Johnson attempts to pull off a staged exit from lockdown that would see the UK’s $3tn economy aim to be among the first major western economies to return to some normality.
The Daily Mail newspaper reports that while most office workers will be asked to continue working from home for the foreseeable future, holiday lets and larger hotels will reopen in April.

Outdoor leisure facilities such as theme parks and zoos as well as golf, open-air gyms and tennis could also reopen in April, although a full pub reopening could have to wait until early June.

The Mail said leisure businesses may not return to “broadly normal” until July

Sorry, meant to type "into the 60s" not below the 60s.

Vulnerable and older people who got their first jabs recently will have to wait deep into May to get fully vaccinated.

The cap should have been 70 years old unless having a condition that warranted it. And of course anyone younger with a condition.

But the science says a gap of up to 3 months maximises protection.

Any protection, (circa 65%) is better than nil, then maximise 3 months later, cross our fingers/flu like boost, globally, for next winter.

Like they might be wrong, but they know better than anyone else, and the numbers done already, then needing a second, like you say by May, leads to the overall target of majority done by August.

Not with Pfizer. And with the AZ vaccine they originally has a 3 week gap roll out.

AZ is the dominant vax we are using, and their data said between 2 and 3 months for the best result.

You dont get any protection for 3 weeks, ish, from any. The immune system, as I pointed out the other day, really is a lazy dog. Give it an inch, and it will take a mile. As many ex smokers will attest to.

It's crazy to quote the Daily Mail.

Sounds a bit Nazi that.

The ratio of 15,000,000 single jabs administered as opposed to 500,000 double doses - does that trouble anyone else or make them concerned the best policy would now be to get a second jab quickly to all of the most vulnerable?

The breast beating over that first number is all wrong, IMO.

You miss the point completely. 16,000,000 people now have some cover and will not die or be hospitalised from Covid. over 16,500,000 doses have been given. No one in Europe even comes close to these numbers. Germany are now backtracking regarding the use of AZ and France, laughably, are now only going to give one jab to certain people. But still you slavishly doff your cap to them while slagging off your own country (if it is) and it’s efforts......
