I never said it was specifically stated. I said that the restrictions certain people are saying should be in place for the rest of this calendar year as a minimum would mean this to continually be the case.

So unless outdoor sex is legal (is it?) this is another example of people not thinking things through properly. Tbh, single people in general have been completely shafted (wa-hay) throughout this whole pandemic. If you can WFH, are middle class and have a family this whole thing is a very different experience- something I don’t think the politicians or SAGE have given much consideration to.

I’ll give you an example. My best friend lives with his parents. His partner lives alone. His parents have formed a bubble with his grandmother and his partner has formed a bubble with her own parents. Now correct me if I’m wrong, this means he is technically not allowed to see his partner? Now imagine the situation for so many people who are single or even worse single and live alone. And what little hope these people have of some normality and a chance to engage in some basic human socialisation and enjoyment in life this summer with the vaccination programme underway. And as always, the usual suspects with no actual insight into anything or how people actually function continually try to piss all over the bonfire with their own agenda. It’s tedious now. Everyone can see it and everyone has had enough of it.
Having sex qualifies as exercise, surely?

SK, Taiwan, NZ, Australia, Vietnam - places that, via various means, effectively contained the virus and the result was vastly fewer restrictions on their citizens, far fewer deaths and far less economic damage.

How anyone can come out if this past year and not think containment is the answer here baffles me.
Not sure you can link those 4 together on containment alone. What about size Vs population and or population density
The various national psyche.
3 are Islands.
(But so is the UK, therin lies the whole crux of the master and the decision was made...or rather not made.
Why is the the real question)

I don't know about the others but the Aust. NZ went pretty early with isolating their island resulted in just 906 deaths in Australia
Did we get lucky or do you make your own luck, I think it was isolation and luck

France looking to just give a single jab to those who have already had the virus and recovered.

Seems sensible that a single jab can act as a booster for people already with the anti-bodies.

We announced that would the best way to treat a first jab in those situations last week.

Makes perfect sense.

I agree with you, but you’re blaming entirely the wrong people there.

We could have avoided almost all that this winter, with a working system that could detect local outbreaks before they spread too far. We still need that system now, given the vaccine rollout and the likelihood that protection might not last for so long (as well as the risk posed by future pandemics).

Having to go through what we are going through now is because of a failure of government policy. They are the ones who’ve been panicked into doing this because the alternative is so horrific they feared they’d pay the price for it.

Having to go through it again in future will be our fault, for allowing it to happen.

So you want the old and vulnerable to live a normal life by restricting all those not classed as that?
Yes. You might have noticed we are not living in normal times.

Sacrifice and community have to be the way forward. Admittedy, that'll be a massive shock to the rampant individualism that most of Thatcher's Kinder have been used to for the last 4 decades.
