It was 14,500 fans + hangers on.

But that stadium has touchless facilities for entry, catering, toilets etc. How many of our stadiums are that advanced?

So, I ask: generally, how do you put on a safe event for 20,000 people?
It’ll be doable come September/October time once people have had their vaccines, for outdoor events and larger indoor settings at least, smaller venues will be harder to do

That's why people are suggesting we can do it once everyone has been vaccinated. No one is advocating opening up the stadiums tomorrow
When / if eveyone is vaccinated we'd be into another round of vaccines tweaked to combat variants. Itl's like painting the Forth Bridge.

There really is no scope to go back to mass attended events safely until this virus runs out of road.

From where I`m standing, the purpose of the vaccine is to stop people dying / hospitalised and opening up society again, even the bits of it that you don`t like, which lets face it is quite a lot.

It`s with us to stay now, it`s staying on top of it and managing it, just like a whole host other diseases.

We often have 20,000 flu deaths per year so we might as well stay in perpetual lockdown even if we eradicate covid.

You dont manage it by holding mass attended events.
