Rosemary Garth of Irish Distillers has outlined why they have decided to produce a large amount of hand sanitisers for hospitals at no cost.

For all those jumping on the martial law bandwagon.

Try to think of it like this :

When the flooding was really bad did the army” help out “- Yes.

Was it martial law - No.

The army have been put on standby to “ help out “ again ( if needed )

It’s not the start of a military junta, so please put your tinfoil hats back in the cupboard.

Well said Mush.
I hope they shoot looters, head shots.

How many lives will be lost due to obesity as a result of not exercising?

I've tried to exercise whilst in isolation but it is pretty much impossible as there's only so much you can do. You certainly can't go for a run lol

There's plent of ways to keep fit without leaving the house.

That was for a definite, short term event.

Now they'll be deployed indefinitely.

Is it martial law? No, not necessarily. But it can morph easily into that.

Brewdog have outlined why they chose to do it also. The same reason they do anything... Cash dressed up as rebellion. Of course they are giving it away to local charities and hospitals first... But you can see, they really had no choice but to write a press release and sell it on their website as well.

It's been fairly well covered that it doesn't affect young, healthy people imo. The death rates are important, they communicate the impact of the social effort needed to tackle it. I think one look at this thread would show you that there are still plenty who don't really consider the thousands at risk to be much of a loss.

I really don't get that impression of what I'm reading. That and I don't think that message is out there for people neither. I'm seeing panic in healthy people both online and in real life.

I mean I'm self isolating right now for no reason because my boss in work got into a flap because I mentioned my kids had a cough.

I still see genuine panic in the country without any information being put out there to alleviate those fears. There are people who should he fearful right now , not everyone at once though.

Why is it always Imagine?! What do the lyrics of Imagine have to do with this situation? Or is it just a catch all "nice" song?

I hate Imagine, as you may be able to tell. And charidee records.
...because it fits the bill? It's a call, in part, for internationalism and against the narrow focussed nationalism that's helped exacerbate this virus's impact.
