Its too early for the vaccines to have much of a measurable effect, given the lag time to get to this (edit: in the sense of the world of contracting the disease, getting sick enough to go to hospital, being treated and then dying).

The Tory 'Covid Recovery Group' need watching.

A bunch of ERG Brexiteers determined to destroy any notion of tackling the Covid19 virus but to simply open up the country to live with it.

They'd be prepared to see a million+ dead without batting an eyelid. They oppose all lockdowns, all restrictions, and they want to replace SAGE or other medical-based advisory committees with one's that focus on the economy. And they are the swivel eyed loonies who have the murderers's ear. Currently they're at the forefront of trying to get schools reopened before March.

they are, but we've been in lockdown for six weeks - although this hasnt been the same as the first one (which was a sudden switch rather than a gradual tightening of restrictions, and there wasn't people moving around as much), we saw a similar rate of reduction (in the death rate at least) by this point

the test of whether vaccinations are working is what happens when we reopen

Oh sure. Wasnt suggesting the vax lead to the drops in positives, more that lockdown plus vax is a decent result. So far.

I have got the virus this morning , have been sticking to the rules basically work, home, shop , 99% of the time in work I am on my own. Havnt been to see my kids and family
Only time I have met others is three people that are housebound due to illnesses , I have been keeping an eye on them, shopping ect.
Been getting a test a week.
One of the people of the people I was looking in on had the jab the other week and wasnt looking well so I told him to ring the doctors, he said it will be just the vaccine .
Anyway this morning, I told him to get a test as I had been tested positive , he has it now the doctor is saying he must have had it before the jab, (he was a bit under the weather), looks likes that's were I got it from other two are ok , I hadn't seen one for about a week ,other one has had both jabs.
Just shows you cant be to careful, but the one that has had the 2 jabs has thankfully got no illness.
