Germany is having a big vaccine summit today to try and sort something out. Government meeting with leaders of all the big pharma companies. There is speculation among media and politicians that they'll try to find a way to get the big pharma companies to start producing other companies' vaccines.

Whatever. We desperately need more vaccine availability.
They're measuring vaccinations in a few thousands here compared with hundreds of thousands in UK.

Feeling positive that one of the months of lockdown is passed. I'm thinking we'll reopen in May so we're 25% through this lockdown.

Whats pleasing about door to door testing? Surely a lot of people will just say no anyway?

it is better than having people drive to a resting centre, plus it gives you more ability to talk to people about this

I've just said the same to my mum on the phone mate. One of the toughest months January is now done and just keep ticking off each day in Feb.

Are they the lateral test ones?

Utterly useless if they are. Like something out of a lucky bag.

Yeh this year I've been keeping an eye on sunrise and sunset times a lot more this year. I think its because I'm associating the weather change with the likelihood of being able to do more.

Hopefully in a few months some sort of normality can resume.

Fair enough. Testing is great if people actually quarantine when they are positive.

Isle of Man fully open again for residents, with no restrictions whatsoever, no masks, no social distancing, with all of the Covid Incubation Factories, pubs, restaurants, hairdressers, gyms etc open for unrestricted business.

Great news for everyone else, as this is hopefully the template for the rest of us ( apart from Dave obs )

I think the absence of the Oxford scientists making comment on recent events should be taken as a commentary in and of itself. If they were at all of the mind that enough testing was done on older groups or agredd with the decision to go with a 3 month spacing out of jabs they'd have been trundled centre stage by AZ to make their case for them. The fact we have only AZ corporate heads backing up the claims of this vaccine speaks volumes.

The AZ vaccine is conventional in type and there is a lot of data from other vaccines about dosage timing.

The Pfizer one is a new type of vaccine without all of that background data hence should be used only as it was in testing and trial.

That depends if it's booster or part of primary series dosing... Very different. And Coronavirus is conventional, however, COVID 19 is the very unconventional close relative

Too late, community transmission in two cases already and widely spread.

Don't worry I'm sure a ring of steel is imminent, COVID isolation centres will set up on Wirral...

Can't say the Government have not be warned about borders, to little too late again.

They have duty to speak out if they dont like the way the vaccine they made is being used correctly.
