Story in the Echo about people without appointments turning up at Aintree Racecourse where the vaccine is being rolled out "asking for spares".
lol
FFS.
Whatever. We desperately need more vaccine availability.Germany is having a big vaccine summit today to try and sort something out. Government meeting with leaders of all the big pharma companies. There is speculation among media and politicians that they'll try to find a way to get the big pharma companies to start producing other companies' vaccines.
Whats pleasing about door to door testing? Surely a lot of people will just say no anyway? Was pleased to hear they are starting door to door testing, until I found out they are just posting kits to everyone in the relevant towns and then collecting them.

Feeling positive that one of the months of lockdown is passed. I'm thinking we'll reopen in May so we're 25% through this lockdown.
I used to do that. And I was 19 at the time.can “look after your car mate?” be too far behind?

Are they the lateral test ones? Was pleased to hear they are starting door to door testing, until I found out they are just posting kits to everyone in the relevant towns and then collecting them.
Yeh this year I've been keeping an eye on sunrise and sunset times a lot more this year. I think its because I'm associating the weather change with the likelihood of being able to do more.I've just said the same to my mum on the phone mate. One of the toughest months January is now done and just keep ticking off each day in Feb.
Fair enough. Testing is great if people actually quarantine when they are positive.it is better than having people drive to a resting centre, plus it gives you more ability to talk to people about this
Can't can they, not without further damaging and undermining evidence based practices, hence the corporates whose responsibility is the shareholder...I think the absence of the Oxford scientists making comment on recent events should be taken as a commentary in and of itself. If they were at all of the mind that enough testing was done on older groups or agredd with the decision to go with a 3 month spacing out of jabs they'd have been trundled centre stage by AZ to make their case for them. The fact we have only AZ corporate heads backing up the claims of this vaccine speaks volumes.
The AZ vaccine is conventional in type and there is a lot of data from other vaccines about dosage timing.
The Pfizer one is a new type of vaccine without all of that background data hence should be used only as it was in testing and trial.
I’m pretty comfortable with the current strategy (for the first time since last March)
Too late, community transmission in two cases already and widely spread. Was pleased to hear they are starting door to door testing, until I found out they are just posting kits to everyone in the relevant towns and then collecting them.
They have duty to speak out if they dont like the way the vaccine they made is being used correctly. Can't can they, not without further damaging and undermining evidence based practices, hence the corporates whose responsibility is the shareholder...
