If it’s true mate the EU will have to provide logic and evidence, I think politically they'd prefer to approve it if it was possible. Probably sensible not to draw a conclusion until then even if these early reports are true.

How many over 65s have gotten the AZ in the Uk? Surely the majority will be in between doses now?

In terms of age groups, the upper ages are still being done, the over 70’s are still to be contacted, but I would imagine most doses are now of the AZ.....but honestly I don’t know.....

I’m sure they are working on their new story as we speak. AZ cannot supply the number they want, aha, we didn’t need them anyway just for the under 65’s......you’d hate to be a 66 year old in the EU right now....

I don’t believe the political angle at all mate, if the early reports are even true, which we don’t know yet.

EU national governments under massive pressure for mass roll out, hence them taking AZ to task earlier, doing this will be massively unpopular politically.

Like I said to Billy the EMA are non pulsed politically, almost to their detriment, before you look at medical ethics may practice etc.

Besides only a handful of countries have approved it, I think the FDA are still looking into it to, be interesting.

Let’s see if the report is true first. I don’t think that strategy would be true myself, the EU has a stable of vaccines coming on line, while over 65s is a minor yet vulnerable subset for the overall EU market as a %. The EU will still be buying AZ, just not administering to over 65s - if that report is true.

They would definitely love to approve it. Some politicians have staked their credibility on it. EMA needs to respond to this ASAP IMO.

So the Germans are suggesting that the easily transported Oxford vaccine costing one or two Euro’s is crap. Meanwhile a German vaccine costing x20 times more and needing to be kept at -70C is the bees knees....gotcha....
