I think this summer will be similar to last summer. Far from normal and then next winter we will be back in lockdown due to new variants.

I've pretty much gave up on hoping for normality to resume. At this stage I'm just hoping they don't bring in further restrictions.

Everybody will be vaccinated by winter. Variants won't stop the vaccine working, only if a virus mutates to a new strain which is unlikely with coronaviruses which on the whole are pretty stable as opposed to flu

Its not comical. My dog doesn't eat food from the supermarket. So you want him to starve?

Rather than trying to shut more things why don't the government try to make people stay home when they get a positive test? Only about 45% of people actually stay at home for the required period. I'd imagine thats more of an issue than pet shops.
