They're rolling out the Pfizer jab in Birmingham to start it off.

As said, I cant see the stores shutting, so that means exposure to others.

That cant be seen as a safe environment for the vulnerable.

Going round in circles now.

They will make it as safe as possible. You will not have folk queuing in a supermarket. Same as you dont see folk queuing at GP surgeries.

It will be qualified nurses/pharmacists giving the jab, with the same 15 minute wait to check until the next batch come in.

But knock yourself out. Janet and John Bellend will do the shop, leave the trolley nearby, and get in a long queue to get a jab.

Well I do not know, just because they have seats does not mean they are not waiting their turn.

They are told to stay in their car/taxi, till the nurse beckons them in. Thats for the special Covid entrance to the surgery.

Other GP patients do the same, but at the normal entrance. The main issue is the small car park. Hence why the same protocol but with a supermarket sized car park is not the worst idea in the world.

But neo sommet.

Whisper it quietly but the vaccination programme seems to be going well. Pity we couldn't say that for the covid response. But that is for another day. Lets hope they keep on track with the vaccination roll-out
Wifes surgery have just about finished over 80s but some surgerys in the same borough haven't even started so her surgery can't start over 75s till they catch up which is fair enough .All about supply of vaccine now.

It’s moved on from the vaccine is gnats piss, to spacing out the doses by a few weeks is tantamount to a death warrant, to getting given the vaccine in the bogs at Asda, with a smack head in the next cubicle shooting up.
Next but one cubicle mate.
Social distancing innit.

Surgery got some oxford vaccine today so some gps and staff been to local care homes apparently don't need to wait 15 minutes after vaccine hopefully starts speeding it up.

It underlines just where we are after decades of neo-liberalism: overburdening and underfunding local state infrastructure to an extent that we see a supermarket stepping in to provide a jab for people and not local health authorities.

I'd also say that supermarkets are an inappropriate place for the elderly and vulnerable to be visiting in a pandemic to get a vaccine to beat the pandemic - shopping centres being right at the top of the list of environments where transmission is generated.

They arnt stepping in.

You have been able to get flu jabs at supermarkets for years. They are just helping out.

Pharmacists in the US are at the forefront of vaccinations in the US.

Have a ton of friends back in Arkansas that have been going to nursing homes to give employees and residents their COVID vaccine.

patients with covid in London taken to Newcastle , Derby Leeds , Nottingham etc , this is 11 years and more of tory austerity kicking in to an already ramshackle system who knows what the end game of all this will be
