And how is the virus dying going in Britain...

We should have never been compelled to act like this, willy waving over other countries because we have allowed so many people to die unnecessarily.

Proper disgusting if you ask me.

I asked Davek a simple question. You seem to have been compelled to jump in for some reason to deflect from the answer, and apparently are determined to keep doing so. The poor souls who died so far did so because of catching a virus or a mutated virus, those that will live may do so because they received a vaccine. So how are the EU doing, have they approved the Oxford vaccine yet ?.....

This is great from Morrisons, also as its private property they can refuse entrance to people.
I think some shops are scared to do it because they dont want to lose income
I should know better, but I didn’t even think of one of their scenarios of “what if the guard enforcing it is exempt from wearing a mask “

I love the narrative the government is pushing that the NHS is at breaking point, etc. That will be because they’ve been scaling back the NHS for the past decade.

Why the hell has Liverpool got a £500m hospital laying idle because they can’t get someone in to finish the project?!

You seem to have changed your concern for life just to defend the EU. So I’ll ask again, how are the vaccine inoculations going in the Eu, if you don’t know just say so.....
Have I indeed changed my concern for life...

Im sure we are ahead of this little competition of vaccination, is it race or a marathon. And as soon another EU country comes near or overtakes our numbers you will scurry off elsewhere as will the general willy waving.

I'm so good you quote me twice.

EU have not ticked the Oxford one off yet, individual states can if they so wish. I suppose its similar to our lot changing the spacing of vaccine thus reducing its effectiveness against advice from manufactures and the World Health Organisation...

Infection rates are likely continue to rise for another week or so, with hospitalisation lagging two weeks behind.

The worrying issue is that the projections suggest that unlike in April/May we won't see a quick drop in levels, but rather a plateau and slower decrease.

Hopefully at least one of them is peaking soon.

We have the added factor of the vaccine, so we just have to get through it.

Not expecting this to end any time soon.

Noticed today that Portugal are going into lockdown. There's spikes all over Europe - obviously all relative in size. Just a crap time.

Actually, as I said to you in a post the other day, the Oxford vaccine has more efficiency after 12 weeks.

The Pfizer one - there is no evidence that we should be increasing the spacing so I don't think we should be doing that. However, other countries have also decided to do it too. Doesn't definitely make it right, but clearly other nations are also taking that risk.

So why are the EU behind a number of countries in authorising vaccines. This is not ‘Willy waving’ this is a matter of competence and people’s lives....

Ease on restrictions, yes. But that shouldn't involve going back to last summer's 'old normal' mistake. It was a catastrophic error and cant be repeated.

I think we should have more open. We should have events, matches back on - but like we saw with the Everton games, we should have it that you have to have proof of a negative test or vaccine to get into them.

It's easily done and lets people actually do stuff and also, yes, helps industries that have been totally decimated.

A small-scale festival, for example (I'm not talking Glasto, but something akin to Tramlines) could safely be put on using that basis. If someone wants to get in, they have to have the vaccine, or have to have one or two negative test results in the space of the week leading up to the festival. Again, capacity can be there, it's an easy solution.

A small festival like that boosts the local income, gets local, independent retailers in, and is all outdoors.

You could limit capacity, perhaps, to half or 3/4, but there's definitely solutions there.

You should be able to go for a drink or for a meal, and not have to faff about with only going with your household, or only being able to have a drink before 10.

You should be able to go to the gym.

All of the above can be kept with safety aspects in. Deep cleans etc. But we have the added advantage of the vaccine and the vulnerable groups hopefully by then being vaccinated.
