wife getting hers at the minute leigh sports village 160 vaccines left over needed using was asked could she get down within the hour
Wife just told me how its working with spare vaccines in wigan area. Apparently doctors surgerys are made aware of spare vaccines and they let the staff know then its up to the staff to contact the vaccine hub to make an appointment happens within a few hours.
Its for the pfizer vaccine at the large hubs .Apparently still not got any oxford vaccine at surgery yet and no word on when its coming.

Tesco have offered help.

We have huge car parks.
Trained Pharmacists who do jabs already.
Massive freezers and fridge rooms available for storage.
Dealing with queues of people for months, and are already up with speed to cleaning etc.

Amazed, or rather shouldn’t be anymore, that we haven’t been doing jabs for days already..

Well isn't it actually having the vaccines that's the issue too?.

I know yesterday they were only just starting to send the Oxford vaccine to GP surgeries?

Obviously needs to hurry up

No idea.

I’m ex forces btw, and the fact we are relying on the Army for logistics right now is a bit odd. They are very good no doubt, but the private sector is far better equipped.. in my own opinion obviously.
Can’t recall seeing many referigirated Army lorries recently.

I heard Johnson was inspired by the Icelandic Army. He saw some trucks zipping about.

The military docs are boss, don’t get me wrong, but this is just different gravy.

(I still have a decent scar from an ‘incident’ in Djibouti with the French Foreign Legion that they sorted for me..)

Seems very little prep was done

New vague government guidance - act like you have the virus - stay at home ??
I take they meant just when your not at work though.
Maybe they should have thought about that over ther last few months when they were telling everyone to get out when the infection rates started to show an unmistakable massive second wave coming.

They've murdered tens of thousands. And they and their families will be getting the very best chance to survive this virus when the people they have placed in harms way wont.

My mother in law is an ex-NHS nurse (retired) and has offered her services to administer the vaccines. She did this 4 weeks ago and only this week did someone get in touch about enrolling her. She said the bureaucracy and red tape involved means she probably won’t get started till end of Jan at the earliest.

I really can’t understand why this prep work wasn’t done months ago, we knew the vaccine was coming
