Can someone explain to me what exactly clapping for NHS/Care workers is supposed to achieve? They don’t need applause they need the public to stop being numpties and follow government guidance on mask wearing, social distancing and general hygiene to ease the pressure on hospitals and get death rates down
It's a photo opportunity for Johnson - the man who created the need for a lockdown due to his refusal to accept that the scientists were telling him the truth about delaying one.

I know one thing, it’s like world war 3 in ours trying to get my eldest lad to do his online schoolwork.

As far as he’s concerned, he’s on holiday and as such shouldn’t be burdened with schoolwork.
Same with my daughter. If there is one thing that I'm going to be very happy about once life returns to normal is my daughter going back to in person classes.

My youngest has online video class registration at 9am so he has to be up and ready.
The work then gets sent through and it needs to be sent back in to be marked in the afternoon.
Quite like that set up.

The oldest has had to do a Uni exam online today as well and that was hard work getting him to do that like.
Totally lost interest in his course now after 8 months back living at home.

I threaten my sons xbox with dad's hammer and he seems very keen to do his homework and online lessons without fuss lol

tbf he's a good lad and a lot smarter than his old man.

One thing throughout this sad affair, I'm immensely proud of my two kids who have shown more strength, courage, backbone and patience than about 90% of adults I've dealt with since last March.

100% this

The sooner they actually get some structure in place and start teaching online lessons formally the better
