The Tier 3 areas - as crap as it is - it does work.

This useless government have to start rolling out mass, rapid testing in those areas as seen in Liverpool. That's the next step. Not another national lockdown for no reason.

Email off kids school just now about staggered starts and learning from home next term along with a testing policy.
The info given to the Head teacher yesterday.
They finished school half an hour ago.
Absolute shambles yet again.

Just had the same email, they were officially informed at 6.30pm when the school was closed

The head pulls no punches in his email either.

I really doubt it does. The Liverpool "success" was with everyone ignoring everything. I live here, I saw it.

What we're seeing is natural waves of the virus ebbing and flowing IMO.

Well I mean it does work to a degree. You can still get people ignoring things but you can't break into restaurants and pubs etc. at weekends where spreading occurs.

There appears to be no way out of it for the majority of the country though for the foreseeable, so as @Tubey says surely it’s better to lockdown properly again and just get it over and done with, rather than the utter pointlessness of the half baked tier system.

Which is slowly but surely heading to an inevitable lockdown again anyway.

According to the woman on the door in my local Asda they’re not even allowed to challenge those not wearing masks, so good luck with that idea. I went in the other day for a few items (max 5 minutes), counted 7 adults without masks and none of them wearing exemption lanyards. It’s happening more and more imo.

Many of the people with exemption lanyards are fakes. They don't need to supply any medical evidence in order to get them.

Well like many on here said - some got shouted down for - it's clear it moves in waves. It moved south to north in March, and then in October it moved north to south.

But in Yorkshire, the cases have halved in the last two weeks it has been in T3.

We said similar in October/September didn't we. Might as well do it early and get it done.

It's just all a load of tosh, though.

Apparently the flu numbers just happen to be completely down this year compared to last December... wonder why that is
