Please quote my comments that you feel are talking down to the UK as regards the virus. Allow me a right of reply.
Believe it or not mate but theres other Irish people than yourself. A lot of it’s been popping up on Twitter as I follow Irish coaches etc.

Between a number of comments on here and elsewhere on social media, you’d believe it if the Irish population had been told that continually talking down what the UK is doing rather than focusing on their own issues would stop Coronavirus. The follow up comments from yourself and your brethren do nothing but back up the point.

No mate, you directed your statement at something I posted. Please quote it and allow me a right of reply.

If the Irish strategy to combat Coronavirus is to mouth off about Britain as much as possible then it’s heartening to see how the population have embraced it. Gets a bit weird.
Maybe because we are a tiny country that's doing what the WHO are telling countries to do, but we share a land border with a country intent on doing the exact opposite.

The UK aren't the only country doing it. NZ are also using the same policy. A country with hugely stringent (and successful) health controls at its borders.

I'm not saying it's right or wrong – this isn't my argument. There's just more than one way to skin a cat.

It's absolutely not feasible at this stage for the entire UK to go into lockdown. It just isn't.

The UK gov should absolutely have been more prepared. In fact, every government in Europe should have been. They're all to blame. As soon as the outbreak started, travel to/from China should have been halted – immediately. It wasn't for days or even weeks IIRC.

Everyone could and should have done better. Now it's a case-by-case basis. The UK are trying to spread out the impact so the NHS can handle it. Locking people inside at this stage isn't going to help massively as the infection is already here and spreading quickly.

I'm sure a lockdown will happen – inside days I'd imagine – probably starting with London and then gradually increased to the other cities. If a full, month-long lockdown of the entire country can be avoided, then it should be, imo.

The main let down by the gov has been testing. It's why their initial model was nonsensical – they didn't do enough tests. They still aren't.

This isn’t me criticising the Uk response to Coronavirus. Please quote me where I did that mate. You told me that I have done it but I’m not seeing it??
Ahh are we now playing the semantics game? Carry on. Question why people are being weirdly pro-nationalistic over their response and use it as a stick to beat others and get called a knob.

Anyway, sure we've both got better things to do than this. As long as the whole thing gets sorted, who really gives a toss about the right and wrong way, as long as it ends with as few people dying as possible.

I asked you to quote where I criticised the UK government regarding the current crisis. You told me I had but can’t show me where I did so. That isn’t semantics, that is you talking tripe for a reaction then being showed your arse when called out on it.

I sincerely wish you and yours the best of health in the upcoming weeks x.
