Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

Not semantics - "all the fault of" is a clear statement, and one that wasn't made.

With regards to the second bit, the target I lobbed in the crosshairs was the fact that the Welsh lockdown ended whilst the English one hadn't, and that as a result of the markedly different conditions people from England came into the now open Welsh shops (and restaurants, pubs etc) and spread the disease. Given that (in the North over the past 30 days) rates per 100000 people are much worse in the two border counties there is surely something to be looked at there.

But there have been spikes all over the place in Wales.

South, West, Mid.

Anyrate, it doesnt really matter. Deffo not gonna fall out over it. England havnt exactly covered ourselves in any Covid glory neither. Xx

Plenty? Really?

We have had posters on here saying the police were doing zilch. And I seriously doubt someone in Essex is going to drive for 4 hours for a pint in Wales.
Yeah, really.

Plenty from Somerset drive over to Monmouthshire for meals and drinks as a matter of course, never mind the Covid push-pull factors.

I just dont see it. And I live in Somerset.

But tell me about the Essex folk who drove there for a pint and a meal.

Hospital figures - 191 deaths were announced today, down 86 on yesterday and down 13 on last Monday. 183 deaths were in English hospitals, down 25 on yesterday and down 5 on last week with 181 occurring in the past 10 days. The 7 day rolling average falls to an even 358

All settings - for the 28 day cut off, 203 deaths were announced today, down 12 on yesterday and down 3 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average falls slightly to 459.71

For the 60 day cut off, 216 deaths were announced today, down 13 on yesterday and up 3 on last Monday. The 7 day rolling average rises slightly to 497.29

Division is being sown everywhere at the moment. It's difficult not to start pinning blame on groups of people when the cases just keep on rising. We had it with (forgive me) "BAME" communities, the students, the ravers, north/south. I live in a small village in North Wales and from what I can make out everyone is following the rules. Just yesterday in the local tescos everyone had masks on and were social distancing. In walks a scouse couple without masks seemingly not giving a toss. Was everyone in the shop pissed off? Yes obviously, but it ain't no bloody Welsh/English thing. The clues in the name.. Global pandemic.

Well now these new ridiculous pub measures are being imposed on us (we have the lowest rate in 22 Welsh counties), we’ll be doing the opposite next week, travelling to Tier 2 Chester for a big day out, buying loads of lower priced booze (instead of this minimum price nonsense imposed by Welsh Labour), then a nice pub meal before returning home. Sniff it Drakeford.

The numbers have dropped again massively in Liverpool, some areas are below 100 per 100,000 which is a big improvement.

Interesting to see articles suggesting a lot of people will continue to socially distance after the vaccine. Its definitely going to be a very long road back to any sort of normality.
Well it's just going to be natural behaviour, really.

People's minds were reset (for lack of a better term, not hinting at anything else) to act a certain way after a matter of days in March. People just naturally will continue to act that way, you'd imagine.

Bet there's still loads of people wearing masks (whether compulsory or not) this time next year, for example.

Congratulations, you have now just made the DEATH list of you know who and he has reserved a lamp post and a noose especially for you.
