Weirdly im able to feel sorrow for the millions who are struggling due to the lockdown and at the same time feel an equal amount of sorrow for the millions of people who have lost loved 1s during this horrible time.

I mean is there anybody that isn't suffering during all this?

We are all suffering, for various reasons, this ain't no walk in the park.

Option A : Do nothing and watch as they go around with a truck collecting bodies in the street
Option B : Try and save lives

Pick 1.

Yeh I don’t really see why people are bothering the toss with the argument.

National lockdowns are there to, hopefully, prevent X number of deaths from COVID but maybe cause Y number of deaths from other things.

If you have no lockdowns you might have less Y deaths but you definitely have the X deaths.

At the end of the day those for lockdown and those against lockdowns are subconsciously prioritising some people’s worth over others.

There will always be a lesser evil, pick that 1.

There is no solution to COVID that results in no deaths whether that be from COVID itself, other ailments or mental health. Unsure why people are arguing either way when it’s inevitable.

So long as people admit that the methods they support are also responsible for deaths, I accept this. The hypocrisy of talking about death cults whilst accepting that people will inevitably die is laughable. It is immoral and sociopathic to say death from COVID is inevitable, but to dismiss or completely ignore deaths caused by lockdown (whether it is 1 or 100) is acceptable? It’s just one of those things? Are they casualties of a larger war?

Larger war? Not sure this is really an Orwellian novel but fair play.

Anyone who runs a business who is mates with a Tory cabinet minister.

But these people would have died anyway.

Obviously preventing unnecessary deaths is the primary concern during the pandemic - but some people seem to think that means other concerns aren’t relevant or don’t deserve any credence.

There is a generation that will not only have to shoulder the immediate and ongoing consequences of Brexit - there’s now the added burden of the worst pandemic in 100 years on top of that. To add insult to injury, the government overseeing it all is a right wing gaggle of incompetents - who will sooner or later look to squeeze a population already drained by austerity measures from the last financial crisis.

Tory Death Cult.

1 thing kills a few people, the other kills thousands.

Thats how you rationalise it.

“a few people”

And you have the nerve to call others sociopathic and whine about Tory death cults. Maybe if you weren’t such a self absorbed fat ass who actually visited a gym once in a while you’d be in better shape to fight off any disease that came your way.

What is it with gym goers? Proper odd angry bunch.

They seem to think there's no evidence that being in a gym spreads a virus.

Their evidence of this is low incidence of proven spread in gyms... when that's because they've been shut near enough constantly since March.

I'd love to go the gym. But if there's one place I'm not going during a viral pandemic that spreads via aerosols and survives on surfaces, it's the gym. It's like arguing brothels are safe ffs.
