Nice to see COVID is having a week off for Christmas.

So there will probably be a peak around 16 Dec, but then you can do what you want for a week (because it's Christmas) and then all this will hit again in Jan.

Wild.

It's a well known fact that fairy lights stop the spread of the virus, hence the Christmas relaxation.

I've actually started saying this to people in conversation. In capital letters too.

Ridiculous mock lockdown rules that future generations will laugh at in history lessons as they spread the virus of the day.
I reckon in hindsight this will all look like an over reaction. Once we have all the data , once we know everything about the virus and say 10-20 years in the future.

It doesn't change the here and now or the need for restrictions and vaccines and the like.

Just , reading that 90% of deaths being over 60 and 95% total having underlying health issues. At some point in the future there will be a little bit of hindsight on that front I think.

All we can do is vaccinate, wear masks and just get through it first though.

Excess deaths.

I think it shows the ill preparation of the government and authorities and the corruption inherent and a complete disregard for human lives.

I also think it shows that after the brief period of solidarity where everyone was scared stiff there is a significant percentage of the population who couldn't care less if people die as long as they don't have to maintain basic infection control guidelines.

The people outside my front door protesting the Colston statue en masse who were celebrated were social terrorists no matter there cause because they knew full well of the potential to spread a deadly virus. The BNP rallies ditto. Same again for the celebrating kopites and BLM gatherings. It doesn't matter what the cause is, they were given simple instructions to save lives which they disregarded.

It's very difficult to maintain social distancing at all times in a city but organising events in a pandemic? Just unbelievable.
