Oh now you can buy them says the welsh govenment.Put the cotton wool down ladies.
Tesco now claims that the aisle was temporarily closed in one store as a result of a break-in. The area remained closed to customers while it awaited a Police investigation.

A spokesperson for Tesco told Manchester Evening News: "Sanitary products are essential items and are available to customers in all of our stores in Wales. Due to a break-in, this area was closed temporarily in one store for a Police investigation, but is now open again.

"The reply to this customer, which implied these products were non-essential, was sent by mistake and we’re very sorry for any confusion caused.”

The magazines I can perfectly understand, but the sanitary products debacle was unfathomable.
Yes ok, but surely this woman in west wales wasn’t taken by surprise that she was going to have a period? She, and all the others moaning about not being able to buy ‘essential’ purchases, had 4 days between the announcement and the lockdown to get their stuff. Ffs, this is hardly a new situation for everyone.

Which is great unless you get paid weekly so can’t/forget to carry any with you/get caught out with an early or late cycle.

But yes, women and their periods eh? Get it sorted.

Been in our local Tescos (Mid Wales) Saturday and today, nothing like that is restricted, rumours on facebook our way about nappy's being restricted, its either down to individuals in these shops. and then lots of Tory wind up merchants getting hard on's about Freeeeeeedoms... lol

Low and behold its individual stores with managers with degree in Tory stupidity!

So in essence, Tesco in Wales has contravened Welsh Government guidelines by denying sale of sanitary products to a woman.

Oh and brought some flowers, let the Tory frothing commence!

Don’t know if it’s been mentioned yet but Boots are bringing out a covid test that gives you a result in 12 minutes.

(If you can afford the £120 it costs)

For crying out loud, the whole point of two weeks was to allow time for no symptoms to appear.

Unless they are replacing quarantine with a test after 7-10 days instead, this is ridiculous...

It shouldn't be on a government - any government - to deem what is essential and what isn't.

It's daft.

And people are just letting it happen because they're scared of this virus. Fine, but it's here for a long time, so what's the solution? Governments deeming being able to buy a book or a frying pan as non-essential for the next two years?

Seems like a strange hill molehill for people to take a stand on, that's all.

Maybe there's lots of similar indignation in Ireland that we don't see because there's the Irish Sea between us and so it's not newsworthy in England, but maybe there's not ?

Far as I can see, no-ones up in arms because Waterstones and Lakeland can't open in Wales, but people are getting very stressed about the equivalent aisles in Tesco being shut ? But if you saying it's for two years rather than two weeks ( well, probably four or five if we're being honest about it ) helps pass the time, then go for it mate.
