Do you buy clothing every two weeks or something?

I think they are going of the basis of the average person has a decent size amount of clothing that will last them two weeks.

Clothes are necessary in your daily life sure but an essential purchase?

Sure if anything people may spend more before the lock down begins might be a win win for stores. Panic buys. Like us Irish and buying alcohol the Thursday before good Friday.
Ok. I’m sure I’ve posted this before, but if you close down clothing sales it effects people.
I genuinely had an elderly lady during early lockdown who asked to buy nightwear. Our clothing department was shut.

She explained that she only sleeps in the buff. I kid you not.
She was terrified of getting Covid and being taken into hospital and she would have no nightwear.

Anyway, she got her nightwear..

I never said it doesn't effect people but I'm sure that old lady and those that it effects are a very small percentage that absolutely need clothes.

I bet most visitors to department stores and clothing stores are teen girls and middle aged women and maybe vein men who absolutely need to go shopping to update their 4 week old look. So they can post on Instagram or you tube or something.

For the greater good if its a two week closure then so be it. Two weeks is nothing and I'm sure many can survive. If they really need something they can easily go get it before they shut for the two weeks

I have a toddler and we think about his clothes in advance based on size. They grow fast but not that fast mate. Feel your reaching. Its teo weeks not two months right?

Again people who need clothes can look now see what they have and their needs and get them before the shops clothes. Seems pretty easy.

It is ridiculous. However, show's how political managing COVID has now become. Personally, I would have shut the pure tourism down with local travel restrictions, because that's the worry people from high risk areas comming in Wales during half term for another short holiday. Couple weeks ago that travel expert Calder on This Morning was telling people to go Machynlleth because it's low risk, it's now amber.

Go on then, what’s essential ?
Saying clothes isn’t essential ?

Ridiculous.

Unless you are getting stuff for a growing child (and not being forward thinking) then clothes aren’t essential in that sense. It’s fine to assume everyone has clothing for the seasons. Vast majority of clothes shopping is want not need and you can always order online can’t you.

The amount of pants that are regularly wet on the Everton forum I assume some people go through 2 or 3 pairs of pants a day.

“What about taking the strain off us, why doesn’t the NHS treat us ? Stop telling us to protect them. I’m sick of protecting the NHS. They are now responsible for thousands of people who are dying who do not have Coronavirus”

Utter scumbag. And people are lapping it up. What is this country turning into?

The NHS has effectively ceased and is now Virus Management Service (VMS). The question should be why is it necessary to do this?

We can go back to this again, even the short window of calm in summer seems little has been learnt.

You mean the internet has other uses than regurgitating the thoughts and opinions of paid propagandists of the Mail and Telegraph etc. Your asking a bit too much you complete fantasist!:)

I mean he’s got a point. Two of the most prolific posters in this thread work for the NHS.

I’m not a scientist but I think that proves 95% of NHS staff are arguing on the Internet or making Tik Toks of them dancing every time a patient dies.

Shut it down.
