Hes a politician who can actually do his job. I dunno how he sits in that cabinet.

I mean, he's still ignoring the rightful claims of 3.5 million people who have been cut and excluded from any meaningful government support for the last six months, despite the fact he's had six months to assess and find a way to make sure those people are helped, but sure, apart from that...

Yet another Tory who says he will 'balance the books'. They have been in government for 10 years and have yet to do so. Before the pandemic he was going to cut benefits :

He was the 'brains' behind the just eat scheme and we know how that turned out.
He said he will 'do whatever it takes', yet the new furlough scheme pays 22% of net salaries compared to Germany's 60%-87% - look behind the smarm.

Also, I can go to the pub with my three housemates, and mingle with loads of other people inside (breathing the same air etc in a confined space), but I can't go see my mum and dad.

Sound logic as always.

Absolute jokers.

@ToffeeTim I agree with you on a lot politically, and in relations to covid.

I think Sunak did a good job at the start of this.

Right now, he's as bad and as clueless as the rest of them.

Why can't you see your parents.

I'm in Tier 2 from Wednesday in Wakefield.

So I can't mix households in an indoor setting, if I'm following the rules. Sure, I can go stand at their window (in the cold and dark), or maybe I can meet them for a coffee unless those are shut too.

But no mixing households (but I can go to the pub with people from my household, until 10, obvs)

Actually, no I can't meet them for a coffee, as I can only go with someone from my household.

I'm past trying to see any logic in anything they are doing, because there's no logic to the rules.

My mate who's spent 7 days with someone at work who has now tested positive can't get a test and has been told by track and trace not to self-isolate, yet if it was his mum, who he lives with but sees far less than people he works with due to shift patterns etc, then he'd have to self-isolate for 2 weeks.

There is simply no logic to it.

Well they say Merseyside locked down due to infection rates but, like you say, similar rated places haven't been. No one has challenged what the reason is for that though.
I believe it’s to do with the ages of those contracting it and hospital admission rates combined with available icu beds. Many variables involved in this, but Nottingham is confirming cases mainly amongst the younger generation.

Im just gutted, this is the start of something very, very bad.

No false dawn this time.

Got mates who’s business are going under as of midnight tomorrow.

Thankfully, this will be the last Tory government for hopefully a long long time.

If they do their job correctly, then this is prevented.
It's sad mate and I'm one of the few on here that said from the very start that this pandemic is very much an economical disaster as it is a medical one.

But let's get something straight. This is not going to get resolved until everybody starts obeying social distancing rules. The countries that are successful in fighting this virus comply with regulations. A big part of our society, for a variety of reasons, don't. The sooner the penny drops with these people, the quicker we can start re-opening the economy again.
