Current Affairs Coronavirus Thread - Serious stuff !!!

I listen to a monthly radio show and the girl who does it is in her late 20's and seems to be fit and healthy from when I have seen her DJ.

She spent 5 days in hospital and had a blood transfusion with COViD, scary stuff. She sounded awful on the show, so out of breath.

I am getting so confused, and my life is incredibly simple, so heavens knows how others feel.

For weeks, we were told pubs and restaurants were not a significant source of infections. Now, they are. Maybe its a localised issue I guess.

Then 3000 folk, (?) can go to the Royal Albert Hall, and similar at the O2. But lower league teams cant have 300 in the open air watching them, but can watch from the clubhouse/bar.

Like, the basic messages, hands, face, space, and the protect the NHS stuff early days, were simple, effective, and adhered to. It wasnt difficult, lets face it. But now, for the wider population, not me, it must be bewildering, and undermines the "simple" effective advice.

I still don't have a clue what's going on roydo, this Tory government haven't made it easy.

I dont think the colour of a government would make much difference if I am honest.

Like, in Brussels, they have the 2nd highest infection rate in Europe. But allowing 11000 in to watch Belgium tonight.

I will put the lunatic fringe, USA and Brazil, to one side, and ignore anything from Russia and China, but it seems every heavy populated countries are all under some collective D'Fuk spell.

Wash your hands, SD, wear a mask. Please tell me how that is so hard to do.

I do this like it's second nature now roydo, always have a tube of hand sanitiser in the car as well.

Same. Not the sanitiser in the car, but always use them at the supermarket. Take the bins in, wash me hands. Same with shopping. I honestly get that my situation is probably more delicate than most, ergo, I am a bit of a nerd with it, but still, it is so frustrating.

I know I would feel far safer in a 10k crowd at Goodison than I would in 3k at the RAH

All my friends starting to organise evening activities inside restaurants and bars now. Looks like meet my friends and catch covid or become a recluse for the next 6 months

Everton, and most PL clubs, can ride this out, financially. It must hurt, but based on the windows transfer spending, it aint critical.

Lower down, without literally a few hundred bodies at their games, they will just go away. Aint right if 3K are ok to sing some songs at the RAH.

I am sure somebody will have covered this but if hospitality/pubs are the main problem, how is London controlling it or does that area now have significant herd immunity after the initial wave which we know hit far more than reported?

Nothing to do with the financials, just don’t get the logic
