Interesting listen. The stats have always been a bit weird, and the margin of error always seems to have been something that’s been waved away. As an example my mates daughter and her bf both got tested. The bf had it, she didn’t. Now unless COVID doesn’t spread during intimate moments, that seems a bit odd.
I don't think there's anything odd there. Just like you don't always catch a cold if someone in your household has one.

That's the issue; people will see this as something to just try oppose "nah eff you gov I'll do what I want."

They're not necessarily rules just suggestions to help people.

Nothing will change.
Contrast that attitude with folk in more grown-up countries where they are more united in their approach to the situation, and they're supported by a government they trust.

Easily explained, the postman had alreadY given it to her.

Or she's had it previously without knowing and now is "immune"?

It's only odd if you believe the hype from the government and media who'd have you believe if you come within 2m of anyone with covid you're definitely going to catch it which simply isn't true.
Some people have a better immune system than others. Some people have better personal hygiene than others.
Covid may be more infectious than a cold or flu but it doesn't necessarily mean it'll be passed on to everyone.

I think by assuming you're 100% likely to catch it from being close to someone who has it, and changing your behaviour to suit, then you can eliminate the possibility of you getting it that way.

Common sense I guess.

It's like hiking a very high peak in extreme winds won't always cause you to fall to your peril but if you assume it always will and don't attempt it then you can never fall to your peril in extreme winds. If that analogy makes sense.

Hancock also told MPs there enough flu jabs were available for everyone in a priority group who needed one. But people did not need to get them before December, he said.

would stress that this is a roll-out, nobody needs to have a flu jab before the start of December, you can have it in September or October, it will then cover you for the winter, and so we are rolling it out and more appointments will become available in good time.
We’ve got 30m jabs in total, that is more than we’ve ever had before, it is almost double what we have typically had in the past and those are available.

It's also like assuming you're going to die in a car crash so you never drive a car or you're going to get hit by a bus so you never leave the house or you're going to get fat so you never eat.

Life is always a risk so you can't assume the worst all the time.

It's odd in the sense that we've been told that this is a hugely infectious virus, transmitted via almost all surfaces and through any type of close contact
That doesn't really change my point. Not everyone who sleeps with an HIV positive person gets HIV. Not everyone in my office catches my cold. Looks like not everyone exposed to COVID develops it.
Edit: doesn't mean I don't think we should avoid risks like that.
