This is ridiculous

No, it isn't.

It was clear very early on that this virus was worse than they were telling us. I couldn't believe what I was hearing back in January when they first got involved with their message of 'business as usual, don't isolate China'. Incompetent beyond belief.

Not sure why theres a clamour from the media journalists on criminal enforcement through bans etc

If the government and chief mind expert in the country say dont go to the pub or the theatre for the sake of our health, then we shouldn't go and they should close.

We live in a civilised country. I dont think people (in the main) will need criminal threats.

Even on questions related to the economy and law enforcement?

Well no. But I dont think law enforcement is necessary if the advice is dont go into social gatherings. People just need to follow advice. Pubs etc should close too in the first place.

Economy not the key issue. Individuals peoples health and wellbeing more important.

So you can catch it twice ?

FFS

Basically this seems to be a result of the lockdown measures.

I'm sorry, but the worst thing for people's mental, emotional and even physical health is to be locked inside.

If someone has it, and they recover, they are likely to have infected those that have come into contact with them.

But, under these measures that govs are introducing, they have to stay indoors, confined with other people who have it.

I'm no doctor (wish I was like, for the £££) but it's obvious that if you've just battled through something then your body will still be producing anti-bodies and you'll feel very weak (everyone who has been interviewed who has had a serious dose of COVID-19 says it's acute for 48 hours and then after you feel like you've done 12 rounds with a heavyweight champion for a few days).

Locking people indoors in that situation is frankly ludicrous.

The damage is done as soon as someone gets it. They're infected and infecting straight away.

To be fair I'd rather listen to a medical professional than any politician on something this important.
That's a big problem which has led to the panic over the weekend... PMs are supposed to be leaders and deliver clear concise confident messages. That one in the middle ain't.
People will switch off when the other two talk, they can't help but fall into their niche medical chat.

I get the advice and it seems to make sense given the situation but whatever your business is imagine being told to close it down. Simply that’s it , your business is shut for an undefined period .

Unfortunately mate it all boils into one.

I've been – for all intents and purposes – laid off for the foreseeable future today. I have also had the news this morning that I haven't got a job I'd been in for.

I try not to worry about things in general. I'm young and don't have the stresses that others do. But I still have bills to pay etc and now I'm extremely concerned what the case is gonna be over the next few months.

Not only that, but when stuff does get back to 'normal' in terms of sports, or near enough normal, I've been told I can't expect the same amount of shifts as the companies I work for have to make up for giving full-time staff extra time off right now due to the lack of events.

So my wellbeing and health, in this instance, has really taken a hit today. I'm not one for getting inside my own head, I used to a lot and so in the last five years I actively look for other ways around this. But it's really done me in mate. Like, massively. So in my case, I may not have the virus (I might do, I might have had it, I don't know, or I might not get it at all) but the uncertainty over my financial state / career is really worrying me.
