It's outside, at Bundesliga spectators are not forced to wear face maks, many chose not to, as I noticed this week. Because social distancing was spot on.

masks are essential for public health but the officer touching her all over, global pandemic eh...these measures will be used a lot by the right wing govs in the post covid world..socialists should wake up mate.

It comes back to the same post I have wearily made for months.

I see 100% mask compliance. A cheerful SD attitude between strangers. Cant speak for hand washing obvs, but the majority use the cleaning stuff entering a supermarket.

Some places have lock down. My area seems to have swerved the worst of it.

Well, as you know, and I'm sorry to say it, this place Liverpool is the scally capital of Europe.

They do worse than that on both sides of the Atlantic. In that setting I can just about understand why he did it.

Why should the non-mask wearer do wtf she wants when everyone else complies?

She didn't deserve to be treated like that, but she did need to be ejected.

I'd never completely disrespect the people of Liverpool, but this covid19 crisis is severely testing my civic patriotism.

There are some utter wallopers out there. They know the ramifications of what the're doing, but they dont care...in fact, they seem to revel in wanting to spread a virus that can and will kill people.

It's wrong, but understandable.

I have no time for people spouting "individual rights" when the vast majority of other individuals find it no problem to comply with sensible rules to protect all of us. Those people are childlike and should be treated as such. And that's what, ultimately, happened. Dont want to follow the rules? Dont sit in the stadium. Simple as that.

I wouldn’t say he’s “gotten away with it”. If he has overstepped his bounds, which seems likely, then the legal system will deal with it in due course

There isn’t really any such thing as “American regulations”. We have 50 different states, with 50 different sets of rules. From what I can gather, this happened in Ohio, where they have a statewide mask mandate, but it most likely didn’t apply to this outdoor event. She probably wasn’t obligated to wear a mask even if it was the decent thing to do.

Ultimately however, it comes down to the sad state of things here in the US where words like “liberty” and “freedom” have become high minded verbiage for people to use when they are trying to rebrand their own selfishness. It’s the same rhetoric that gets thrown around because people aren’t comfortable actually saying out loud that they’d rather see other people’s children slaughtered at school like livestock than have to even consider giving up some of the assault rifles from their personal arsenal.
