There's no real risk to anybody but the people who take it currently.

What I said came over wrong mate. I meant in case I had a reaction that affected me. For context, early weeks of Mrs R being home, I got stung by a kopite wasp hiding in the laundry, and whilst the pain was fine, I was crapping myself that I might get that reaction some get but I cant spell.

Literally, had the secret hot line number she was given ready to press Dial on the phone. Nowt happened, obvs, but thats what I meant.

It would also massively impact and perhaps undermine the collective messaging that the government backed with the scientist are going for in order to get as much public compliance. Whitty and Valance both dismissed the idea of individuals assessing their own risk and Boris went so far as to say;

A fair point. But I think the idea that we’re all in this together would take a bit of a hit if the mortality rates for younger people (Even up to the age of 65) were reported widely in the media. The fact is that globally the case fatality ratio for healthy people up to a a very high age threshold is very, very low. If you release that data at this moment in time when you’re desperate to create a sense of unity in society it’s not going to to help your cause. Also using age stratified data in regards to deciding policy seems to be a touchy issue. Let’s face it, what government wants to be the one that advocates isolating only the elderly - it would be a bad look and would probably receive a lot of emotional rather than rational backlash.

In objective reality general restrictive measures (Limits on gatherings, compulsory masks etc) combined with stronger, targeted measures for those deemed more vulnerable would make more sense- but that plan is perhaps dangerously divisive and perhaps too complex when a lot of people still have an issue with simply wearing a mask. Hence why measures to target as many people as possible is where we remain (rightly or wrongly).

What freaked me was I didnt even know what had stung me, cos I had just reached in the cupboard, and Blammo, hurt like loads, but briefly. So could have been anything!

Found it later in the bathroom and battered it.

I wouldnt. But not cos I am anti vax or anything; simply, it would be daft of me to introduce the risk, however small, into the house/me.

Could do with a breakdown of age,living conditions,employment,other health issues,dont know if such things are collected but it would help identifying potential hot spots

When you fill out the test you give age, gender, ethicity and location for certain and maybe a few other details. Would be surprised and pretty mortified if all this info went to waste and wasn't collected for study

At least all of us normal people will be able to get vaccinated and carry on with our normal lives though - The tinfoil hat brigade can just get ill as far as i'm concerned
