It all trickles down Dave. And if the protocol tells you that you should only test in specific circumstances that will be the advice.
Regardless, I'm not really sure why it would be Dr's and nurses giving that advice in a hospital setting. They would be conducting tests based on clinical merit and the rest of circumstances would go through 111, GP or online platform - in which case you'd be told not to get one unless you've got symptoms.
He’s just trying to deflect from the fact he was caught in another lie, stating the BBC are giving out propaganda about not getting tested because you’ve probably got a cold which is simply untrue.
The comment made was that NHS staff if asked by patients are giving the advice that testing is not recommended unless you exhibit one of the three common Covid symptoms. Nobody is telling anybody they must not get a test at all when not in that bracket.
Im some hospitals nurses are having to book in patients themselves over the phone for clinics currently. A frequent question they have been asking is if they should come in to the hospital without having a test first.
