What do people think the chances are of the entirety of next season being played behind closed doors ?
My mate’s father-in-law got a phone call off Sharpie, when they were ringing round at the start of lockdown, and he said the club were preparing for 2 years without crowds. I appreciate there’s a difference between expecting and preparing.

Time will tell I suppose. In Czech, they've had March levels of cases (and significantly more in the last week or so) for a month now, and deaths are still a handful per day.
I said ages a go, I just can't see the death numbers it supposedly was happening again. Those who are at risk are more aware and taking more precautions now. Those that are younger and catching it aren't generally affected by it.

Interestingly, if you look at both France and Spain, they've had very high case numbers for more than two weeks now, and their death rates have remained much the same. I wouldn't say the pattern from spring is guaranteed at all.
Google translation:

"The scientific council is in its role, which is technical" , and it is up to the leaders, "democratically elected" , to "take decisions" by "trying to be as transparent and as clear as possible" , replied Emmanuel Macron during a trip to Corsica this Thursday .

"The scientific council and I are convinced that we should not go back to confinement, that the issues are not only health [...], the issues are also social and economic, so the choice will not be solely health " , said Jean-François Delfraissy on RTL Thursday morning

"On this point, the executive seems to agree. "What must be avoided above all is general reconfinement" , Prime Minister Jean Castex has repeatedly repeated in recent weeks.

They seem determined March/April way full lockdown will never ever happen again.

It's perhaps quite telling that the annual jamboree of the Tour de France is showing no signs of being stopped. It seems the autumn is going to be about learning to live with this, whereas spring was about preventing it from overwhelming us.

Doesn't that depend on the death rates and hospital capacities though? Seeing we could have had coronavirus in the UK late 2019 it took quite a few months to the point the death rate started to climb to noticeable levels. Could we be seeing that again but over a longer timescale due to local lockdowns/face coverings.
